@farzyness The only real advantage they have is the specific "chat" experience. I guess you go free tier + ads and try to take all of the consumer market
I'm officially done with Claude Code.
I burn through all of my usage in 36 hours.
And Opus 5.5 refuses to complete work that I tell it to do.
Setting up @opencode + @OpenRouter now.
Any tips or best practices that I should implement?
America’s skilled trades have a leaky bucket problem, NOT a demand problem.
Ford’s new report projects 1.7 million skilled-trades openings every year through 2035.
It puts apprenticeship completion at 48%.
These people already signed up, they just didn't finish.
Ford identifies transportation, childcare and the need to keep earning a paycheck as barriers to finishing.
People are sold on the career opportunity, then get lost during training.
Improve completion from 48% to 60% and you get 25% more people finishing.
I’d put money into paid training, reliable transportation and childcare support before spending another dollar telling those same people the trades are a great opportunity.
They already enrolled.
We can finance billion-dollar factories.
We can figure out how to get an apprentice to work.
This morning I switched off of Claude Code for @opencode + @OpenRouter
It took me ~30 minutes to get fully up and running.
The reason I made the switch is
1.) Opus 5.5 outright refused to complete normal tasks for me.
2.) I burn through my entire weekly usage in 48 hours.
As Anthropic goes public, I expect them to add more and more restrictions to their product capabilities.
As models start to commoditize, the best results come from clear planning and direction.
It makes much more sense to have a strong, coherent plan and give a cheaper role-defined agent a long horizon to work through it.
@JamesonCamp Yes this is something that is really important and hard to teach people. Claude code / codex should become the main interface of which your work happens. Everything else flows through there.
