2,000 people have been charged and many of them were charged and tried within 48 hours of their arrests. This was the efficiency the #HongKongPolice capable of, yet selected NOT to carry out on the Yuen Long white-clad thugs. 4/4

It has been a year since the "#721 Yuen Long triad attack". Based on HK Police records, of the 37 people arrested related to the attack, only 7 were formally charged, even though there were hundreds of attackers participated in the 3-hour-long violence. THREAD 1/4
Keep in mind that within the same 12-month timeframe #HongKongPolice arrested over 9,000 people, many of them peacefully, participated in the #antiELAB movement. 2,000 people have been charged and many of them were charged and tried within 48 hours of their arrests. 3/4
Familiar scenes of last November District Council election are happening today in #HongKong ❤️❤️❤️ #Hongkongers are lining up to vote in pro-democracy camp’s primaries despite the threat of NSL.
I stand with the people of #HongKong as they bravely stand up against human rights abuses.
Congress and this Administration must take swift steps to lead a multilateral effort to end these authoritarian policies and protect Hong Kong’s autonomy.

Despite her own current "defeat", Grandma Wong is convinced of #Hongkongers' eventual victory.
Three times she wrote "加油!" (translate: "Carry on!")

Alexandra Wong, nicknamed "Grandma Wong" by fellow younger protesters, wrote to @StandNewsHK on the anniversary of 612 crackdown. In the email she revealed her overall health is at rock bottom as a result of immense mental stress.
She expressed deep concerns for #Hongkongers subject to atrocity of HK police and political imprisonment. At the closing of her email, she questions how #CCP could overturn the democratic tide and norm of the free world.
The people of #Taiwan have long empathised with the plight of people in #HongKong, & we’re taking substantive action to assist & protect those in need. Our Taiwan-Hong Kong Office for Exchanges & Services is dedicated to helping #HKers transition to a new life here in Taiwan.
On the first anniversary of the 616 march where 2 million Hong Kongers showed up demanding the withdrawal of the extradition bill, a double rainbow appeared at Victoria Harbor. Don't lose hope- there is light at the end of the tunnel.
