Would you look at that... I knew I was right about this situation. It was just someone else coming up with the same idea.
Although I could never have predicted the guy using AI assistance would accuse someone else of using AI assistance. What was the goal here?
"These guys used AI to copy my idea! My idea that used AI!"
I support @potatopleasee.
Yes, it is indeed.
It is a nightmare working on a game for months, spend nights losing sleep, putting our jobs and personal times on the line.
Then, we woke up to be called a thief. and AI slop without proper evidence and investigation.
So instead of going back and forth, we’re just showing the work. Our artist has uploaded WIPs, production files and development material from Potato Please so people can see how the game was actually made.
We had never seen Rado’s game before all of this. Soviet + potato isn’t something either of us invented. It’s been a meme and a cultural joke online for years.
His mentioned game jam had a lot of potato themed games. We searched only google and steam when we started the project.
Funny thing is Rado’s own https://t.co/kvpEcA2AaB page has a generative AI disclosure. Potato Please was developed independently.
These are some of the assets from our game.
Drive includes: Peeler recreation video from zero to full game ready prop.
Some props from our scene view.
Their interior parts are also a modeled fully.
We think AI can't create interiors of objects I believe.
Also added substance and blender images for anyone to inspect. Drive link is in comments:

It’s every indie dev's worst nightmare.
I created this concept for the GMTK game jam. I held off on my Steam page to obsessively polish the mechanics... and it just got cloned and shipped. Probably mostly with a simple AI prompt.
Here’s my original build vs theirs 👇
Also, the mentioned GMTK game jam has participants of 10.5k .
When you search for a "potato game" his game never shows in any search. It is ridiculous to think that, we come across with the game and then attempt to steal it.
We are a team of professionals and we reject any false accusation.
Please help us and share.

@_alfxi Sorry, not searched the gamejam specifically. Should we check all the gamejams before start prototyping our idea?
We searched google and steam to be honest. Nothing more.
Below text is AI Free:
Hello everyone,
I am one of the developers of our game Potato Please. I started my channel a week ago to document our journey.
I will try to address some accusations at there in next days. I will document our progression and development journey in the channel.
Crisis management is not our expertise so I just want it to settle a bit.
English is not our native language. So it is true that we get help from AI to properly convey our thoughts.

We need to address this directly. Calling our game a “clone” and implying it was made with “a simple AI prompt” are serious accusations.
We had never seen your game before these posts. Potato Please originated independently from a potato meme and video popular in our community.
Similar concepts are not evidence of copying.
Real people have spent significant time designing, modelling, coding and developing this game, and we’re prepared to show our project files and development process if necessary.
We’re happy to discuss genuine similarities, but publicly presenting speculation about our team and our work as fact is unfair.
