Namaste 🙏
This is a space for conversations about Bharat—its politics, Hindu civilisation, culture, history, politics and future.
I won’t pretend to be neutral, but I’ll strive to be honest, curious and open to disagreement.
If that sounds like your kind of conversation, welcome.
Some weren’t lucky enough to get the time to fully immolate themselves.
Mughals used to pick up the half wounded body of those women & assault them.
That's how sick they were.
Lucky are those womwn who got the chance to commit Jauhar & escape such cruel holligans.
@jasveer10@sharrmasumann the scientific proof is energy is neither created nor destroyed, only changes form, when you die, your body is recycled, and anythign else goes back to nature. thats reincarnation.
Those women who chose Jauhar took an unimaginably difficult decision, believing they were preserving their honour and bringing glory to their land and clan. They could never have imagined that even a sacrifice of such magnitude would one day be mocked, questioned, and disrespected by people like this.
To ridicule those who died in immense pain and under circumstances they believed left them no other choice is deeply cruel. Mocking the dead and trivialising their suffering is among the lowest forms of disrespect.
How people are justifying jauhar in the 21st century is honestly beyond me. In glorifying their Rajput ancestors, they are arguing that a woman’s only weapon is/was her physical chastity. That is the level of agency we’re still stuck fighting for ffs.
Ending this debate once and for all: the women did not die merely because they feared sexual violence. Taht was jsut one part of it.
The deeper fear was what enslavement as a “spoil of war” could entail in historical Islamic societies.
It was not simply about sexual exploitation. Enslavement could mean worse things like being stripped of your autonomy, separated from your family, denied control over your own life, and forced to live under someone else’s authority. Your freedom, identity, cultural practices, and dignity could all be taken away.
So reducing their decision to “they died because they were going to be raped” oversimplifies the historical reality. The condition was way worse. The fear was of losing freedom, family, identity, autonomy, and basic human dignity altogether.
“The women didn’t want to be reduced to their v*gina…”
But Jauhar does exactly that. It reinforces the very idea that a woman’s sexual purity is tied to her clan’s honour. Her body literally becomes the battlefield for male honour. Irony?
@Exquisite_1911 its not only sexual purity, it was general honour, you dont have ANY HONOUR when you are a slave or a spoil of war. your mind revolves around " V*gina" thats not our problem.
no, hinduism is not a religion , your first scentence is wrong. If hinduism is a religion, who is the central god? no answer? which book is sacred god's word above all? no answer. who is the head, which is the main temple? no answer.
its an umbrella term given to faith systems indigineous to india.

atheism is a trap. Not faith. Atheism enables a human to believe only what he sees. he is trapped in teh world which only his 5 senses can perceive.
faith pushes your boundaries into believing that there migh be realities unknown to human mind, and things we might not know as possible might be possible. an atheist can never be a scientist, only a man of faith can.
but a religious cult like christianity and islam? yes its a trap.
also, science and religion is a division from the west. hinduism is not a religion. We believe, that truth can be found within, and also outside. Science is observation and conclusion thru observing teh outside world, while meditation is realizing the same truths within, since outside world is a reflection of whats within the consciounce.
because the ideas do exist. they are realized within deep mediation by great men. MAny ideas are found But we also believe, that we still do not have all the answers, and we are in a journey to find them. Thats human life.
We do not claim anything, the texts are freely available online, you can go adn check. Hinduism believes, that the soul is sat chit anand, and has knowledge beyond human understanding.
thats why scientists like ramanujan saw equations in his dreams when he meditated. How erwin schrodinger dreamed the schrodinger equation during his sleep and many other examples.
uneducated moron comparing india's " per capita " to NATO countries who get their money from US, and US gets their money thru exploiting reserve currency status by printing free money every quarter.
in fact, the whole word is shocked that how this country is surviving and growth rate is so fast.
a kid is getting raped, is a terrible crime by the perpetuator. and hindu texts prescribe terrible punishments for them. But how would you answer the philosophical question as to why only some people suffer more than others? you do not have any answer to that other than saying " its random".
everyone born in certian conditions is subect to continuation of what was happening in the past. as humans we are nobody and we do not have any capability to question or understand, why it happened to them only, we only know that karma is complex and beyond our scope.
so " NOBODY IS BLAMING THE CHILD" , if you dont know english, thats not my problem.
its not a punishment or judgement to the kid. The kid is just born yesterday. just the way you hit your hand on the wall, it will hurt back, karma is a reaction to an action. not a punishment.
So whatever experience, good or bad, we are having, its a result of combination of complex actions in teh past. That dosent mean someone is punishing you, its just how the world is. its laws of nature.
A river is not punishing you when. you drown in it, it is its nature to drown people who dsoent know hwo to swim.
but its the DHARMA of humans to punish the evil, the perpetuator who hurts innocent children. we do not have the understanding of what caused whats happening to the child in its past lives, so we cannot coomment on that, we can only prevent or help the child.
in hinduism, god and his existance/non existance, is unknown, hindu philosophy claims that we do not know all answers. We do not have all solutions. Since understanding god, is beyond our scope, he is so mighty and beyond us.
the nasadiya sukta from rigveda mentions this: it questions everything, thus, we dont have all answers, adn hindus are okay with not knowing things.
so you think innocent kids die because god kills them? since god owns everything, according to you, you will ask why didnt god stop the perpetuator to kill? and then you will say, oh god is bad, sicne he dosent stop evil. see where you are going wrong?
the simplest answer is that god is not bad. He is in fact not involved in this world. you get the response according to your karma. But then, your scentence is also wrong, its not specifically " innocent kids" being punished.
its, a soul carrying baggage, that enters these bodies , to get the suffering back, according to their past lives. But that dosent mean someone is " PUNISHING INNOCENT KIDS",
again, that also dosent mean , we leave them to die saying its their karma, in fact, our DHARMA, is to punish evil and protect and care for the weak, so we cannot say they are being punished for their own karmas, thats not our job.
