I just ordered from the #saladhut on @ubereats_uk and there were staples in the salad , incredibly terrifying & in shock.

[Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus @DrTedros]

I am deeply concerned about the toxic mix of disease, hunger and lack of hygiene and sanitation that people in #Gaza are facing right now.
Hunger weakens the body’s defenses and opens the door to disease.
Gaza is already experiencing soaring rates of infectious disease outbreaks. Diarrhoea cases among children aged under 5 are 25 times what they were before the conflict.
Such illnesses can be lethal for malnourished children, more so in the absence of functioning health services.
We need a ceasefire now.

“What we are witnessing in Palestine is a genocide. It is very important that we say it loud and clear. Genocide is happening before our eyes.”

—Spain’s former Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra

In just 8 weeks, Israel killed 86 journalists in Gaza.

This is the highest toll of journalists killed during a “war” in modern history.

[Cornel West @CornelWest]

It’s bad enough that @POTUS ordered a veto of the UN Security Council ceasefire vote. Now it appears he circumvented Congressional review to expedite the sale of deadly munitions to continue Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza. Congress must immediately investigate and determine if President Biden violated Section 36(b) of the Arms Export Control Act. We must cease and desist unconditional military aid to the State of Israel. #CeasefireNow #FreePalestine #CornelWest2024

[Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib @RepRashida]

Immigrants and asylum seekers are human beings, not bargaining chips.

It’s shameful that the Biden Administration and my colleagues in Congress are comfortable bargaining their rights and safety for more funding for bombs, weapons, and war crimes.

"There is a patient who needs surgery. There is a patient who's already asleep in our department. We cannot evacuate ourselves and [leave] these people inside. As a doctor. I swear to help the people who need help."

UPDATE: Over the last few hours, the attacks against Al-Shifa Hospital have dramatically intensified. MSF staff at the hospital reported a catastrophic situation inside just a few hours ago:

[Doctors w/o Borders @MSF_USA]

URGENT: Hospitals in Gaza have been under bombardment the past 24 hrs. Al-Shifa Hospital complex, where our staff are still working, has been hit several times, resulting in multiple deaths & injuries.

The attacks against hospitals must STOP.

We NEED an immediate ceasefire.

[Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib @RepRashida]

We must legislate to save lives now. Calling for urgent de-escalation and facilitating a ceasefire is how we do it. I urge my colleagues to join me, @RepCori, @RepAndreCarson, @RepSummerLee, & @RepDeliaRamirez, in saving millions of lives.

At the UN Human Rights Committee, a huge number of the participants turned their backs on US Ambassador Michelle Taylor in protest against Israel's bombing of Gaza.

The shadow of Palestine looms over them.

I have not received my luggage & @AmericanAir won’t even return my calls. They won’t even let me submit receipts to replace missing items. What have others done in this situation?
