✊ SAVE IDBI BANK — PROTECT PUBLIC SECTOR BANKING!

A bank is not merely a financial asset. It is a public institution built on the trust, hard work, and sacrifices of generations of employees.

The proposed strategic disinvestment of IDBI Bank raises serious concerns that deserve the collective attention of banking employees, trade unions, and the public at large.

IDBI was established to strengthen India's industrial development—not to serve the interests of a handful of industrialists, and certainly not to prioritise interests outside India over the needs of our nation.

For decades, public sector banks have played a transformative role in India's development by expanding financial inclusion, supporting agriculture and small businesses, mobilising public savings, and bringing banking services to the remotest corners of the country.

These achievements are not merely the result of financial capital; they reflect the dedication of thousands of bank employees who have served the nation with commitment and integrity.

We must ask some fundamental questions:

🔹 What will be the future of employees' job security, service conditions, and career progression?

🔹 What will happen to the social responsibilities that have been central to public sector banking?

🔹 Should institutions built through decades of public contribution be viewed primarily through the lens of commercial valuation?

🔹 Who will safeguard the interests of employees, customers, and the common people?

Trade unions cannot remain silent when decisions of such magnitude may reshape the future of banking.

This is not simply a matter concerning IDBI Bank employees. It is a wider issue concerning the direction of India's banking sector, the protection of workers' rights, and the future of public accountability in financial institutions.

Our strength lies in unity. Our responsibility lies in raising informed questions. Our commitment must remain to the interests of employees, customers, and the nation.

Let us stand together for workers' rights, public accountability, and a banking system that places people alongside profit.

✊ UNITED EMPLOYEES. STRONGER UNIONS. ACCOUNTABLE BANKING.
