@AnnieRothNews Oh, Annie... I'm just seeing this now. We all helped each other get through that year. I'm so glad that @AmyWeissMeyer took the time to talk to so many of us and weave our story into her own of what it was like to be a child living through 9/11.
.@ddbridges1 I'm humbled. It was a great pleasure to spend the day in Amarillo, TX with you and the thought provoking teachers in Region 16. I'm so thankful for the chance to participate in your Literacy Institute. Stay in touch! @HeinemannPD#TeachingTalk
Hi @draya3 I hope the read continues to stimulate you! Good question. Transcription is important because it's the artifact that helps you return to analyze and construct w/sts what makes a good conversation. You can study what went well and what you can improve.:) #Teachtalk
A2: Starting or ending my day with student shares helps me learn a lot about what my students value, what their home lives are like, what they love to do outside of the classroom....

.@DrMaryHoward@LRobbTeacher I just had a conversation with my second grade classroom about what books we could put away and what books we needed to add to our library. Illuminating. #Litbankstreet#G2Great
A3. I’m going to say the public library’s children’s librarian. I tell my preservice teachers to talk to their librarian and use their knowledge!! Plus twitter keeps me connected to great children’s lit that features all kinds of families, children, lives, etc... #g2great
A2: i get to know my students by letting their interests become my curriculum. They determine topics, choose the texts and then work in groups based on interest. Also they hang out in my room during lunch (i teach HS) #g2great
A2: you honor and value all students' stories by practicing listening. While this is a simple answer to a complex question, its critical that teachers practice authentic and probing listening skills. Students know and FEEL when you are truly listening #Litbankstreet#G2Great
Hello! A1: The magic of reading for me is when I have genuine excitement to continue where I left off and set aside a time where I'm in a comfy spot, when it's warmer anywhere in the park feels rejuvenating #Read4Fun#litbankstreet
We put our struggling readers in interventions but we don’t ever actually let them read. This has been supported in the research again and again. (Allington, mcGill Franzen, Guthrie, & more). How do we get them to spend MOST of their time reading and writing? #ZLC2019#G2Great
