Shree Navnath Bhaktisar Parayana Vidhi

The Shree Navnath Bhaktisar is a supremely sacred scripture containing 40 chapters and 7,600 verses. Written by Dhundisut Malukavi, it chronicles the miraculous lives of the Navnaths (incarnations of the Navanarayanas).

Reading this holy text with utmost faith and devotion is believed to fulfill all heartfelt desires and grant divine experiences.

Here is the Vidhi for 7-Day Saptah Parayana

📖 7-Day Reading Schedule (Saptah Parayana)

To complete the 40 chapters in 7 days, follow this traditional daily reading sequence:

Day 1: Chapters 1 to 5
Day 2: Chapters 6 to 11
Day 3: Chapters 12 to 17
Day 4: Chapters 18 to 23
Day 5: Chapters 24 to 29
Day 6: Chapters 30 to 35
Day 7: Chapters 36 to 40

(Note: If you cannot complete it in 7 days, you can read 2 to 4 chapters daily, or complete the reading over the entire holy month of Shravan.)

Parayana Vidhi (Procedure & Rules)

1. The Setup

Start the Parayana on a Thursday, Purnima (Full Moon), or any auspicious day.

After a purifying bath, sit facing East on an aasan (mat) or wooden board.

Place a Chaurang (small table) in front of you. Keep a picture/idol of Navnath given below and the holy book on it. Draw a Rangoli around the table.

Light incense sticks and an oil/ghee lamp (Niranjan).

2. The Worship (Puja)

Pray to Lord Ganesha, your household deities, and elders.

Perform a heartfelt Puja of Lord Dattatreya and the holy book.

Offer Naivedya (Peda, rock sugar, milk, and if possible, Vadas). Place a betel leaf with a nut (Vida-Supari) and Dakshina in front of the setup.

3. Rules to Follow While Reading

Akhand Jyot: Ensure a tall oil lamp (Samai) remains lit continuously until the 7-day Parayana is complete (if not possible throughout the recitation).

Focus & Purity: Maintain physical and mental purity and observe celibacy (Brahmacharya).

No Interruptions: While reading the daily chapters, do not get up in the middle or speak to anyone.

Daily Aarti: After finishing the day's allotted chapters, sing the Aarti of Lord Dattatreya.

Concluding the Parayana (Sangata) :-

On the 7th and final day, complete the reading by following these steps:

Invite a Suvasini (married woman) and a Brahmin to your home and offer them a meal.

Offer a final Naivedya to the deities.

Partake in the Mahaprasad with your family, friends, and those who listened to the reading.

Fold your hands and pray earnestly to the Navnaths to fulfill your wishes.
