Bengaluru to launch safe footpath campaign with Rs 70 crore road safety push from July 1! Will TG @revanth_anumula follow suit to make Hyderabad safer, cleaner by removing encroachments, cobweb of cables, ugly Signages, Flexies? @TelanganaDGP@Comm_HYDRAA@CommissionrGHMC@CVAnandIPS
https://t.co/p2k8cUyyhB
@krishnabgowda good job sir👏, after long time we are seeing a politician pulling up these corrupt officials. Because all these years Politician-Contractor-CivlServant nexus is rampant.
If you can achieve cleaning up pothole ridden roads, release carriage way by providing foot paths on all arterial roads, cleanup cables, ugly Signages and Flexies then you have partly retrieved Bengaluru from urban collapse.
Best remedy to shake these corrupt engineers is transfer them into an insignificant post to remote part of the state. No doubt they can be so corrupt without collusion with politicians and civil servants, as it is open secret all plum posts go by bidding to highest bidders.
Wish same happens in hyderabad too.

Bangalore Development Minister Shri @krishnabgowda Fires a BBMP Engineer & Contractor.
He Further Questions the Corrupt & Lazy Practice of the Corrupt Contractor for Taking Time for Work Completion.
Need this Type of Ministers Everywhere 🙌
Very laudable. 👏
Probity, integrity of Leaders and Civil Servants cascades and invokes fear law.
If leaders become role models without doing blame gaming then citizens, corrupt officials and equally corrupt civil servants develop fear of law. Key lies with LEADERS becoming ROLE MODELS. Why CORRUPTION WAS LESS IN 60s,70s - even with far less amenities, budgets, poor communication and technology? Reason being in the past, even Gram Panchayat sarpanch used to be feared by officials, not to speak of MLAs, Ministers, such was the fear due to moral integrity of leaders of those days hence Civil Servants, People always had healthy respect for law and SteelFrame was strong.
Today all sorts of elements with criminal records are in politics with unbridled greed for power and pelf while CIVIL SERVICE is ticket for prosperity; hence CIVIL SERVANTS having field day with unholy nexus with leaders. Thus Civil Servants too became corrupt and some doing SETTLEMENTS just like their LEADERS.
It is open secrets how the ill-gotten wealth is parked in real-estate ventures, how prior policy initiatives on infrastructure development is taken advantage, how the loot is ‘fund managed’ in stock markets.
Cruel joke is everyone sermonises on honesty and people reconciled to the cynical state as politicians, civil servants who hardly had any property at the start of career now billionaires.
No wonder we see steep price tags for plum postings which is a norm than exception; no wonder the police stations have become seats of settlements of civil disputes, so it is unrealistic to expect lower rung officials to be honest when STEEL FRAME is rusted.
Can we see likes of T.Prakasam, Kamraj, LB.Sastri, KCReddy, D.Sanjeevaiah, George Fernandez, V. S. Achuthanandan, Neelam SanjeevaReddy who remained honest and where civil servants used to take pleasure working with them!
How many know MANIK SARKAR, the former Chief Minister of Tripura who governed the state from 1998 to 2018, is widely recognized as one of India's most honest and poorest chief ministers.
To day we have CMs who govern by court stays, bails, who rose doing settlements.
PROBITY IN PUBLIC LIFE IS TYE FOUNTAIN HEAD OF A HEALTHY SOCIETY!

Not just encroachment removal. We have also started repair of damages to the footpaths to improve walkability. We will spend ₹ 70 CR on repairs to footpaths.

Sir, very happy to see ‘Clean FootPath’initiative by Govt of Karnataka.
👏👏🌹🌹
We wish this will be sustained operation not an eyewash; with strict SoPs in place, particularly making field staff and officials of the areas accountable with penalties for lapses - even after they are transferred!!
Also
- Ban the Flexies
- Don’t allow cables dangling which are risks to pedestrians as well as two wheelers
- lay down strict guidelines for keeping transformers and junction and switch panels covered without loose wires with periodic inspection SoPs
- ban the plastic
- Get all roads repaired in time bound way, transfer those officers who are not delivering to far off and insignificant postings, Bengaluru roads are nightmare to out it mildly.
- Don’t allow festoons, Flexies by political parties, leaders and workers
- Get uniform signage policy to make roads look aesthetic
- Install strong, tamperproof dustbins for segregation
- Survey road gradients, Use all open spaces to drill big bores with water harvesting structures to recharge groundwater aquifers, take @iiscbangalore help in this regard.
- Dint give permissions to high rises that can choke carriage ways and collapse utilities.
- Tidy-up traffic islands
- Make waste segregation mandatory and deviation punishable
- No effort will give results unless enlightened public is made partners, hence push for participatory development with strict MoUs with cityzens’ associations.
MOST IMPORTANTLY IF LEADERS, CIVIL-SERVANTS PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH CITIZENS AUTOMATICALLY FOLLOW otherwise it will be damp-squib.
@DKShivakumar@kharge@DeccanHerald@ANI@iiscbangalore@ANI@the_hindu@thebetterindia@IndianExpress@revanth_anumula@CommissionrGHMC@TelanganaDGP@HYDTP@RahulGandhi ji please spread this initiative to at least @INCIndia ruled governments and win over public.🙏

Bengaluru: Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar said that the government will bring a new footpath policy to ensure clear pedestrian access and impose fines up to Rs 1 lakh on illegal flex banners
"I have agreed that a new policy should be brought for footpaths. Citizens are facing a lot of trouble walking on footpaths. We have made footpaths after investing heavily, but vehicles are parked there, and business is being carried out. We must fix specific places for vendors and create an opportunity to keep footpaths clean for citizens to walk... That is why we have decided to bring a new policy for footpaths."
On the issue of illegal flex banners, he said, "No matter how much we say, flex banners keep coming up. All parties put them up; our party people also do. Everyone puts up flexes. The name of whoever is at the bottom will be fined. We have said that a fine of ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh will be imposed for each flex. Because this flex business has become excessive. Birthday wishes, all that. If the government has something, there is a streamlined system for it. There is an advertisement board. Anyone can take that and do it. Apart from that, there is no permission to put up banners anywhere else."
Footpath encroachment removal drive carried out at ORR, Bellandur–Marathahalli Division by Bengaluru East City Corporation to reclaim pedestrian spaces and ensure safe, obstruction-free walkways for the public.
Citizens are requested to refrain from encroaching on footpaths and to support efforts in creating a cleaner, safer, and more pedestrian-friendly city.

Good initiative. 👏
Hope Hyderabad under @revanth_anumula also follows suit. Leave alone foot paths, even carriageways are occupied in Hyderabad. Footpath, carriageway encroachments, dangling cables, Encroachments of parks, poor quality unaesthetic Signages, Plexies, absence of drinking water fountains, littering on roads, rampant plastic usage, harsh architecture sans aesthetics are symptoms of poor urban decay, absence of planning and virtual absence of civic sense and social conscience. Hope @CommissionrGHMC@HYDTP@TelanganaDGP swing into action to make city dwelling qualitatively better. Since TG also ruled by @INCIndia it would be great if @RahulGandhi ji would push for qualitative urban governance of Hyd city. When footpaths of Western cities are food delivery robots friendly, at least if our footpaths become pedestrian friendly that would be great way forward. @ANI@DeccanChronicle@DeccanHerald@the_hindu

USING CASTE AS POSITIVE FACTOR to UNLOCK SOCIAL EVONOMIC CAPITAL AND UNITING FORCE OF SOCIETY
I am often piqued how even the best educated flaunt their caste yet keep silent when helping poor among their caste. This is irony where rich in each caste exploit caste sentiment to further their self agenda unmindful of plight of poor among their very caste, this vile human nature never stops amusing me.
How long we can blame the British! It’s Ok, we have all along blamed British for turning ‘Varna’ into caste and dividing Hindu society.
That’s enough now.
We have been seeing the unhealthy trend of caste group formations and politicians using them as platform to exploit.
HOW ABOUT Hindus turning the cancerous ‘caste’ into positive factor by
🌹helping poor among each caste by rich in their caste
🌹rewarding these philanthropic rich in each caste
🌹helping struggling artisans of each caste by their respective rich in imparting and preserving traditional skills before disappearing
🌹rewarding those caste organisations that encourage inter-caste marriages to consolidate Sanatana Dharma
🌹the elders in each caste acting as Role models for youth to impart Samskara given the unfortunate crimes - particularly against women - we witness today
🌹finally those who availed reservations should voluntarily give up using same by their children, so that Poor and HaveNots in their caste benefit.
That’s why Positive Role Models with good integrity are precious Social Capital, so that the very negative factor can be channelised as productive force
What we need an honest social dialogue borne of Tangential, Lateral and Out of Box Thinking than glitched Tribalistic-Clan approach to the issue.
