The data pegs Delhi's average Air Quality Index at 350, placing almost the entire month in the very poor to severe category, making December this year one of the most polluted months in recent years.

The average AQI in December levels stood at 294 in 2024, 347 in 2023, 318 in 2022, and 336 in 2021. December 2023 came close to this year's levels but was still relatively better.
