@TheModerateCase Because he is a liar. He's always been a liar. He will always be a liar. When y'all wake up to that, we can move on to being serious about government.
Next question.
@catturd2 That's because you're privileged. If you were in a war and under a terror threat that constantly tried to infiltrate and influence your elections, you would care too.
Like how you say the US is under invasion and you want ICE at polling places...
@bennyjohnson Not sure if this crossed your mind, but Gavin Newsom doesn't benefit California more by being out there with the fire hose.
Newsom is trying to get Republicans and trump to take climate change seriously. So that they can have a more predictable climate and less drought. Wake up.
No, Mr. Trump. America is not making “a fortune” off high gas prices, but your Big Oil pals are.
The average U.S household got $2,000 poorer as a result of the Iran War, while Big Oil got $125 billion richer this year.
End this war. Put a windfall profits tax on Big Oil.
BREAKING: The US deficit widened to $1.99 trillion for FY2026, up +12% from the $1.78 trillion recorded last year.
Spending rose by +6%, to $7.4 trillion, and NET interest officially rose above $1 trillion.
Debt servicing costs are now their third largest expense for the US government, only behind Social Security and Medicare.
This marks the fourth-straight year with the US fiscal deficit around $2 trillion.
The deficit spending crisis is out of control.
Our loyalty is to the nation, not to Trump.
Trump has become disconnected from the truth but that doesn’t mean we have to follow him.
He’s convinced that young people will vote Republican in droves, but that's not what I am seeing on the ground.
@realDonaldTrump In other words, if you want more of the failure to enact actual conservative policy that this administration and GOP Congress has brought you, like not caring about your economic bottom line, vote for Paxton.
This should sounding alarms for anyone who cares about a recession.
For a while, things were ok because wage growth was kind of keeping up with inflation. Of course, a person can't get ahead or recover from hard times, and averages are imperfect metrics. But at least there's hope that people can make it.
If average wages are DECREASING in the midst of high inflation... Yea that's a recession for the average person who relies on income and not assets.
@ChrisMartzWX If you don't think Elon being able to amass this much wealth has anything to do with the rest of the economy, you are lying or in denial.
The ultrawealthy are pulling away from everyone, including other rich Americans.
The top 0.1% have more than doubled their wealth since 2019, per WSJ
They've gained $14.5 trillion, $10 trillion of it from stocks.
The top 0.1% now control $28 trillion, 15% of all US wealth.
@realBrandonGill The point is Republicans are told us for years they were the party that cared about gas prices and inflation. If Republicans can't do that, why should we vote for them?
@BasedMikeLee@Grok what are the existing gun control laws relevant to the shooter in Oregon getting a gun? What are the proposed laws and how would they potentially have helped, if at all?
Does this new flying car cure cancer? Does it do literally anything for the problems we are facing?
I get the many are excited to see a technological advancement. In of itself, that's cool. But everyone else just sees a trillionaire with playing with money when he could be putting it toward something helpful, like curing cancer. Or it could be supporting kids to not starve, giving people opportunity to not live in poverty, or having healthy economic competition and rewarding innovators (in sectors that actually benefit society).
