An intense day of meetings in Brazil gave us much to be pleased about — affirmations of solidarity and goodwill for India across the board, both from the highest echelons of government and from the legislature

Dharwad: Inauguration of Nidec’s New Facility

Inaugurated the new manufacturing unit of Nidec Industrial Automation India Private Limited in Dharwad today. I congratulated Mr. Girish Kulkarni, the Managing Director, and his senior leadership team, and extended my warm wishes to all the officials from our State Industries Department who supported the establishment of this plant.

This new facility brings together French and Japanese technology to produce heavy-duty machines with capacities of 2 MW, 3 MW, and 4 MW, specifically designed to meet the growing demands of data centre industries. What’s truly commendable is Nidec’s ambition to export these machines not just across India, but also to the U.S., Europe, and other global markets.

At present, the plant employs around 800 people. Once fully operational, Nidec plans to expand this number to 3,000 — a significant contribution to local employment.

The event was graced by Japan’s Consul General Mr. #NakaneTsutomu, France’s Consul General Mr. #MarcLamy, Motion & Energy Division President Mr. #MichaelBriggs, senior official Mr. #GregGorman, and other dignitaries from the company and beyond.

#Nidec not only offers valuable opportunities to our young workforce but also contributes meaningfully to the economic growth of this region. I wish them continued success and hope their journey in Karnataka continues to grow stronger in the years ahead.
