The Governor proclaimed today, October 11, 2020, the Day of the Girl in Hawaii and honored one of our #RedCross volunteers, @premedmapper, for her outstanding work with the Missing Maps project and her numerous community efforts. Congratulations, Kana, and mahalo for all you do!
Update: I just completed my first award for @venturingbsa! Starting on the Discovery Award now. Shout out to my #Crew Advisor and Crew President for all of their support. I encourage any #youth who need a challenge in their life to join @boyscouts! ๐
@RepEdCase and @TulsiGabbard: Now that we have a Congressional resolution and state proclamation from the #Hawaii Governor, would it be possible for you to do something to increase awareness of #DayoftheGirl in #Congress this year?
A few months ago, I asked @SenLauraThielen to help me to find a way to get the State of Hawai'i to commemorate the #DayoftheGirl. This week, she got the Women's Legislative Caucus to send this letter to @GovHawaii asking him to do so! ๐ (cc: @GirlScoutsHI)
... BTW: I had a great phone call with @RepEdCase about getting more support for #DayoftheGirl at the national level. I am hopeful that he will find a way to bring more awareness to this event in #Congress. That would be good for the #girls of #Hawaii too! ๐ค
Today is International #DayOfTheGirl which aims to highlight & address the needs & challenges girls face, while promoting girls' empowerment. Kana Walsh of @GirlScoutsHI is the first kid to be published in @PublicDiplomacy. Read her article here: https://t.co/p2Si8vvuaP #HIGov
