ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ಉತ್ತಮ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು  ತಲುಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾತ್ರ ದೊಡ್ಡದು. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸುಮಾರು 2,700ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಂದ ವಸತಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯ ಸುಮಾರು 32,000  ಫೋಟೋಗಳು ಅಪ್‌ಲೋಡ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಒಂದು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಹಾಕಿದರೆ 76,00,000 ಫೋಟೋಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣ(X)ದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಪ್ರತಿ ಆಹಾರದ ಫೋಟೋಗಳು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಪಾಲಕರು, ಪೋಷಕರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೇ ಇಡೀ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೂ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕವಾಗಿ ಜನರ ಮುಂದಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು @SWDGoK ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಉಚಿತ ವಸತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ 5 ಲಕ್ಷ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದೆ.

ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ, X ಪ್ಲಾಟ್‌ಫಾರ್ಮ್‌ ನ ಸದ್ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡರೆ @elonmusk ಅವರು ಸಹ ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನ ಅರ್ಧ ಮಿಲಿಯನ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ತಲುಪಿಸುವ ಈ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಾಧ್ಯಗೊಳಿಸಲು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಸಹಾಯವೂ ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇನ್ನು, ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸದಾ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.

600 KM away from Bengaluru, at the Government Residential School at Bagdal, Bidar, dinner has been served 15 minutes ago and the photograph of the meal, the kitchen etc are uploaded here.

Details of every meal is uploaded within minutes of being served. EVERY DAY. For all hostels in the district.

Running a professional citizen helpline is a very difficult task.

I am not aware of any good helpline in India, across the states, except and Fire and Police. If you have seen any, please tag them. It’s worth working for an effective Public Grievance Redressal Mechanism (PGRS).

The @SWDGoK, helpline of the Social Welfare Dept of the Government of Karnataka, not only takes voice calls, but asks them to text on WhatsApp or Telegram if they are unable to explain on voice. There is also a Twitter handle. All work 24x7. But, still a long way to go in effectively redressing the grievances of the public.

PGRS systems in our country need urgent reforms to give some amount of power in the hands of the citizens who can demand response and accountability.

Will the citizens prioritise ‘citizen helplines’ in their expectations from their governments?

‘Transparency & Social Audit of hostel meals’ initiative in Karnataka Social welfare Dept @SWDGoK has created a new wave of motivation for the stake holders.

It holds a promise to provide quality meals to children in the 3000 odd hostels/schools run by the Social Welfare Dept headed by Hon’ble minister @CMahadevappa.

In phase 1, three districts with 291 hostels are covered. Phase 2 is likely to be launched on January 26th, with 7 more districts, taking the numbers to 946.

Hostels will tweet the pictures thrice a day; breakfast, lunch and dinner, four pics every time, thus 12 pics daily. For 946 hostels it would be around 11,500 pics per day!

Anybody can check the pics and seek further information from the 24/7 helpline of the dept @SWDGoK.

During the district visit, I happen to see the ‘Kashi Vishwanatha Vishalakshi Temple’ at Sattegala, on the banks of river Kaveri, Chamarajnagar district.

One of the oldest temple, built more than 1200 years ago, by the Ganga Dynasty who ruled from Talakad. It has elements of Dravidian architecture and has historical significance.

The towering ‘Dhwaja Stambha’ has been carved from a single stone!

I will be happy to learn about this temple from anybody who has more info. It is a treasure holding our history, culture and heritage.

Wish more Bangaloreans visit this temple and ensure it’s maintained well, reclaiming its fullest glory.
