If a Hindu Brahmin like N.V. Gadgil had deliberately hurt the religious faith of Simranjeet Singh Mann, there would be no gentle FIR for "hurting sentiments." Gadgil would have been lyn* hed. His family would face social boycott and targeted harassment. Extremists would flood the streets, declaring Sikhs "under siege" and "oppressed in Hindu India." The usual ecosystem opposition parties, activist media, and international lobbies would erupt with screams of minority persecution, demanding central intervention and painting it as proof of rising majoritarianism.
Yet in this case, as the victim is hindu and it becomes just "an isolated incident," "due process," and "don’t communalise the matter."
China has 11 megadams on the Mekong. They are destroying Vietnam, Laos, Thailand & Cambodia.
They control the river and refuse to inform us downstream countries about water flow.
Victor Gao called this a Crime Against Humanity. He’s right. So demolish those dams now!

Instead of outraging on a quarter of a million women being groomed and gang raped in Britain, these psychopaths at the @BBCNews, who admitted to evading tax in India, are instead outraging on one woman who claims she contracted a disease 19 years ago after her visit to India.
You have to give common people something to look to.
The same kind of criticism was laid at the govt when it said India should be a manufacturing powerhouse. We are not, but we have come a long way.
aim for the stars, you'll reach the roof. Aim for the roof, you'll go nowhere.
How shrewd to accept Murugan as mere ancestor while denying him with religious respect and authority that he's giving to Christianity.
No use in honoring someone without following their ideals.
Have you seen any Christian telling another Christian "you don't worship my god - because my God is circumscribed by my language"?
Tamil Hindus are infinitely stupid. And the Christians in TN feed this stupidity because it helps their ultimate goal.
One of the reasons it is always important to read and understand the primary sources is that relying solely on secondary sources often leads to factual errors and serious mistakes, like the one in the below post. Let us examine just a few of these errors; otherwise, listing them all would turn this into a full-length article.
First, the Tolkappiyam is a grammatical treatise, not a theological work intended to describe deities. Therefore, there is nothing surprising about the absence of a detailed description of Murugan. Also, the correct word is “Seyon” (சேயோன்), not “Ceyyon” (செய்யோன்). The word “Sey” means either “child” or “red,” both of which are traditional epithets of Murugan.
Also, Tolkappiyam doesn’t say a Kurinji landscape “belong” to Murugan. It just says that Murugan is the primary deity in Kurinji. It is important to note that other key Murugan shrines like Swamimalai (Marudham) and Tiruchendur (Neythal) are in other landscapes as well.
Coming to the Sangam corpus, it is incorrect to focus only on the Akananuru while ignoring the rest of the literature. The Purananuru clearly states that the peacock is Murugan’s vehicle (Purananuru 56). The rooster is not his mount; it is his banner (seval kodi).
The claim that the Thirumurugatrupadai was composed 500 years after the Akananuru merely repeats an outdated, agenda-driven narrative that sought to exclude devotional works from the Sangam corpus. The author of the Thirumurugatrupadai, Madurai Kanakkanayanar Makanar Nakkeerar, is also traditionally credited with 35 other Sangam poems, including Akananuru 17 and Purananuru 3. If the Thirumurugatrupadai were really composed five centuries later, one would have to explain how the same poet managed to live across 500 years.
Furthermore, other Sangam works such as the Pathitrupathu and the Paripadal provide vivid descriptions of Murugan’s iconography. These descriptions are entirely consistent with the representations of Murugan found on Yaudheya and Kushana coins, as well as in Gupta-period sculptures, demonstrating a remarkable continuity in his iconography across regions and centuries.

"Sanskrit belongs to all the people of all languages. To nurture hate-based analysis into this will not give any good"
@sagorika_s You don't get neurocysticercosis by eating undercooked pork. The condition results from eating uncooked, unwashed vegetables contaminated with parasite eggs. Eating undercooked meat with Taenia cysticerci leads to tapeworm infestation of gut.
The article gets this totally wrong.
The sort of services available to the Indian middle class are unavailable anywhere in the world, predicated upon by a class of gig workers who are paid higher than minimum wage in a country with low PCI. The class is so large and diverse that the jobs function as a stepping stone to bigger jobs, and serves the largest middle class there is.
Condescending Communist lecturers simply hate that services reserved for the rich in other nations are available to the not-so rich. While every American“productivity hacker” talks about outsourcing admin tasks to unlock time and potential, the outrage here is how dare you outsource everyday tasks when the white man can’t. It is always a wannabe westerner with these ideas. Not a single Chinese cried about “low wages in manufacturing” because they were happy about the jobs. And it is absolutely racist. There is deep-rooted white worship with the complete ignorance about any non-western paradigm across time and society amongst people who spout such nonsense.
A murder so gruesome that its cruelty is unheard of. Yet it took almost 35 years to bring the perpetrators to justice. More shocking is that there was no outcry from left-liberals. Guess it was filed under secular crime.
Brits, after illegal detention of @JulianAssange should be the last people to talk of jail without trials;
Infact, Brits (after all they did as a colonial power) should be barred from commenting on any topic that invokes Humanity and privileges!
And I don’t care which passport u carry @HannahEP - u should be persona non grata in India

Just like Thirupathi, Thiruthani would have gone to Andhra as well, if not for this legendary Tamil leader 'Silambu Selvar' Ma Po Sivagnanam who fought tooth and nail for TN's northern borders.
He is largely uncelebrated today because Dstocks hate Ma Po Si. They hate him because he was a self-taught scholar who truly loved Tamil literature for how inseparable it is from Hindu ethos and refusing to toe the line of D ideologues like EVR who said Tamils must collectively spit upon Silapadhigaaram.
A huge part in popularizing Murugar worship in TN in recent times goes to the great Muruga devotee Vaariyaar swamigal. Some of you might have seen his books and discourse CDs being sold at Saravana Bhavan.
In his time, he faced nothing but mockery and hate from Dstocks just for defending the Hindu faith from the perennial verbal attacks of "rational atheists" of self-respect movement. In 1970, he was even physically attacked by goons who also vandalized his Murugar idol. So much love for Thamizh Kadavul, you see!
It was MGR who after becoming CM, ensured a favorable environment for swamigal to continue his good work. It was Vaariyaar who actually conferred the popular 'Pon Mana Semmal' title to MGR.
A goon who'd attacked Swamigal returned after years repenting his mistake. The kind hearted Swamigal not only forgave him, but blessed him!
On the subject of temple officials misappropriating temple property, there is an interesting inscription from Thirukazhukundram dating to the reign of Kumara Kampanna. The inscription records that a temple official named Aythan opened the Kal Arai (the temple treasury) and unlawfully appropriated its gold. The theft was subsequently discovered by Thirukazhukundra Bhattan, but by then Aythan had absconded. Bhattan, then accounted for the lost gold and submitted the details to temple management.
In response, the temple’s management committee, together with the village assembly, convened to address the matter. They resolved to confiscate the properties of Aythan as well as those of his relatives, and to use the proceeds to compensate the temple for the loss. The inscription offers a valuable glimpse into the mechanisms of accountability, financial oversight, and institutional governance that existed in temples.
Where was @IndEditorsGuild’s ethics when day after day R Rajagopal ran a toxic campaign against Modi Govt, not to critique it but indulge in ad hominem vitriolic abuse?
Remember how @smritiirani was labelled ‘Aunty National’ in a front page banner headline?
Roll your outrage and smoke it.
