1. Let me re-introduce myself.
My name is Precious Obiabunmo, and for the last 10 years, I've watched my mother run a low-cost community school in Ojo, Lagos called Great-Her Height Schools.

Starting today, I'm beginning a 42-days fundraising campaign to help us raise ₦7,000,000 to complete and furnish our first three classrooms before the new academic session begins on September 14.

2. 10 years ago, my mum started the school with just one child in a church classroom and a simple belief:
Every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their family's income.

Today, that one child has become nearly 70 pupils, and hundreds of children have passed through our classrooms over the years.

3. One thing many people don't know is that we've intentionally kept education affordable for families in our community.
For years, school fees remained just ₦10,000 per term per child. In some cases, additional children from the same family attended at no cost. Affordability and not profit has been the goal for us.

4. The challenge is that affordable school fees can keep a school running day-to-day, but they rarely generate enough surplus to build permanent infrastructure. So while we've been able to pay teachers, buy supplies, and keep our doors open, we've never had enough to complete the learning environment our children deserve.

5. Now, after 10 years of service, we've finally secured a permanent school space.But the classrooms still need finishing. The floors need tiling. The rooms need desks and chairs. The children need a learning environment that reflects their potential.
That's why we're raising ₦7,000,000.

6. For the next 42 days, I'll be sharing stories from the school(pupils, parents, teachers), and the journey of building the next 10 years of affordable education. I hope you'll follow along.
