'Cypherpunks acknowledge that those who want privacy must create it for themselves and not expect governments, corporations, or other large, faceless organizations to grant them privacy out of beneficence.'
- Eric Hughes
Last month in Privacy News:
🌐 Denmark’s justice minister openly declared that using encrypted messaging should not be considered a civil liberty:
We must break with the totally erroneous perception that it is everyone's civil liberty to communicate on encrypted messaging services.
Rough, but unfortunately not unexpected.
🌐 Canadian federal police took funds directly from Tradeogre users. No warrants served to the public, no meaningful recourse. Coins were just gone.

Proud to be a die-hard supporter of #Monero since our very first day 🙌

New threat, 'ModStealer', a cross-platform malware that targets browser wallets:
'[...] ModStealer poses a “direct threat to crypto users and platforms.”
For end-users, “private keys, seed phrases, and exchange API keys may be compromised, resulting in direct asset loss" [...]'
There are four "superlist" darknet markets recommended on Dread. Three are Monero only (drughub, dark matter, black ops), and the fourth allows XMR and BTC (torzon).
Oh, and if you are concerned about the dnms dumping Monero over the latest happenings, don't be. Nobody cares.
Scott Stornetta, American physicist and scientific researcher, was cited three times in the Bitcoin whitepaper, as he co-created the foundation of blockchain technology.
At the Bitcoin Conference 2019 in San Francisco, he talked about Bitcoin and Privacy; well, briefly:
"[...] there is no privacy at all here!"
It will always be a mystery to me how most Bitcoin Maxis can be so blind that they fail to see the lack of privacy as one of Bitcoin's central problems. Especially those who have been around for many years.
