Don't know why @FIFAWorldCup gave @ZEE5India the rights to telecast World Cup matches in India. Subscribed with a plan of Rs 799 for 3 months (auto renewal enabled, which can't be disabled without tampering with the current subscription).
Fine. What about the streaming?
Tried to stream the previews in web browser. None of the content are playing. Tried two browsers. Deleted cache. Logged out, logged in. Hard reset. Result, still not playing.
Why give rights to non-serious platforms?
Chocolate brand Paul & Mike filed a complaint with FSSAI against The Whole Truth over its no added sugar claims on products sweetened with dates.
The Whole Truth argued that date-sweetened products are globally accepted under the “no added sugar” category. They also claimed that date powder has a lower glycemic index of 43 compared to sugar’s GI of 65.
Later, TWT agreed to change the labeling to “sweetened with dates” instead.
This is a good step. Marketing claims should be truthful, unambiguous, and non-misleading. “No added sugar” can easily make consumers assume a product is sugar-free or significantly healthier, even when it still contains high amounts of natural sugars. We need to standardise Zero Sugar claims to be “Total Sugar = 0gm”
Consumer transparency should always come first.

🚔Prasanna and Divya, a married couple residing in the United States, have a nine-year-old son. Due to a misunderstanding between them, they are currently living separately and co-parenting their son in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 12.02.2025.
🚔The family came to India, and on 03.03.2025, Prasanna took custody of his son from Divya through Gokul Krishnan. However, Prasanna failed to return the child to the mother by 05.03.2025, as stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). As a result, on 10.03. 2025, Divya filed a formal complaint at V5 Thirumangalam Police Station seeking the return of her son. The police promptly initiated an inquiry into the matter.
🚔Fearing potential police action, on 22.03.2025, Prasanna posted a statement on social media alleging police misconduct in the form of bribery. The statement read, "The Thirumangalam, Chennai police station is harassing me for money, knowing that I am a successful founder. The AC and SI have demanded 25 lakh rupees to release my friend, who is currently in custody. Please RT for support." This statement was widely shared by Prasanna's supporters, who circulated it without verifying the facts of the case.
🚔Following Prasanna's allegations against the police, the inquiry related to the ongoing litigation between the parents was transferred to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Against Women & Children (CAWC), Thousand Lights, Chennai. The enquiry is in progress and the parents are to seek remedy for this issue through the court concerned.
🚔Regarding the allegations made by Prasanna against the police personnel, a separate inquiry was ordered to be conducted by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anna Nagar. During the inquiry, Prasanna claimed that his advocate had informed him it would cost Rs. 25 lakhs to secure the release of his staff Gokul Krishnan.
🚔However, K. Prem Anand, Prasanna's advocate, denied these allegations, asserting that he neither arranged nor provided any money to the police authorities. To support his defence, he submitted screenshots of WhatsApp conversations in which he had cautioned Prasanna.
🚔Furthermore, Gokul Krishnan also stated that none of the police officers involved had demanded money from him, either directly or indirectly. As a result, the inquiry concluded that Prasanna's accusations against the police personnel were baseless and devoid of merit. It was revealed that the claims made by Prasanna were fabricated and deliberately intended to garner public sympathy while exerting undue pressure on Police.
🚔The act of making, publishing, or circulating false statements, misinformation, or rumours—including through electronic means—with the intent or likelihood of causing unrest, reputational harm, or public misperception, is a punishable offense under the law.
🚔Therefore, the public is urged to refrain from circulating false statements, misinformation, or rumours, and to avoid spreading unverified information on social media. Individuals found guilty of such actions will be subjected to legal consequences as per the relevant provisions of the law.

Chennai man makes a complaint on @chennaicorp’s online app on building deviation, goons land up at his door.
A resident from Sowcarpet flagged a complaint about building deviation in his neighbourhood and in no time goons landed at his door threatening him to withdraw it, which he did.
T S Sridhar flagged a building violation on Venkaiyan Street on GCC's Namma Chennai app last month. He said three floors were const ructed without permission, and there was no parking for the shop operating from the ground floor.
“Initially, goons called me over the phone. They said they were associated with people who were part of BSP leader Armstrong’s murder and threatened me to withdraw my complaint. I cut their calls and ignored them. Tracing me through local sources, they ended up on my street and warned me at my doorstep,” he said.
Sridhar later withdrew his complaint over fear of further harassment and threat to his life.
Sridhar’s complaint was forwarded to the ward 54 assistant engineer's office. Sridhar said the number and details must have been leaked from the office of the assistant engineer. “This is the complaint ID 2025-386-GKD, and action has to be taken. Usually, officials reveal the name of the complainants and tell the violators to deal directly with them,” said Sridhar, adding that rampant violations are happening across Sowcarpet.
GCC introduced updates to mask the phone numbers of complainants, but still, officials end up leaking them.

If you’re a longtime NBA voter and you’ve NEVER voted for Nikola Jokic to win the MVP, why would you feign drama about who you voted for this year? We already know. It’s okay. Shai deserves the hardware. But it’s really disappointing when voters pretend to be objective. No one ever is. It’s okay.
