I’ve met too many patients & family who beat their chests to stop weeping, to stop speaking.
The lie is that tears make us weak.
But to weep is to be strong. To recognize grief, the wound, to fully process & encounter it.
It’s to release the river of all we have held inside.
@CLAUDIAPOSTING I happened to see your video. I just lost my husband in a car accident and I cried seeing your video. We had that kind of pure unadulterated unconditional forever love. Hope they are watching us from above.
20th January is a special date as it is Ricky’s birthday. On this day and throughout 2024, we aim to raise $250,000 in honor of Ricky’s commitment and contributions to creating a more gender-equitable world where every adolescent is holistically healthy, educated, and empowered.
With a very heavy heart we are paying tribute to our dear Ricky Sharma the Co-founder of @AHChampions
Its very unfortunate that you had go so soon but you will continue living in our hearts.
Ugam family will keep working for the dream we saw together.
Rest in peace.
In partnership with Adolescent Health Champions we are working to empower adolescent girls in KGBVs especially transform their behaviour towards their own health.
We recently organised 5 days residential workshop in which 50 fellows participated, learned, brainstormed, sang.
Thanks to the CA School-based health alliance @sbh4ca for inviting to speak about the intersection of vaping and mental health - something I see in clinic everyday. Recording here for anyone interested in learning more: https://t.co/xZszLvKhbs
As an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, I stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and argued that universities must continue to consider race in the admissions process.
I make the same argument today.
June is officially the sweetest month of 2023. My baby girl is here! ❤️ I’m excited for this new journey and seeing how it’ll shape my perspective & work.
I felt so cared for and valued during my labor & delivery experience like every birthing person, esp Black folks, deserves.
AHC is excited to announce that we have received a grant from Tomberg Family Philanthropies. We are grateful for TFP’s support, and we look forward to using the funding to support the health and well-being of adolescent girls in Jharkhand, India in the 2023-24 academic year!
You really must get comfortable with celebrating yourself. It’s so healing. Waiting for others to do so causes unrealistic expectations.
Celebrate you always.
I am running for truth and justice as a presidential candidate for the People’s Party to reintroduce America to the best of itself - fighting to end poverty, mass incarceration, ending wars and ecological collapse, guaranteeing housing, health care, education and living wages for all!

AHC is thrilled to share that our first year of working in Jharkhand was a great success! Working with our partners, Ugam Education Foundation (UEF), we launched our flagship Champion peer health education program in 27 KGBV schools in Jharkhand in the 2022-2023 academic year.
ICYMI: I didn’t post this article when it came out a few days ago, because tbh, I was too sad, angry, & exhausted to post again about how living as a Black person in this country is deadly.
From 1999-2020, 1.8 million excess deaths of Black Americans!

It's National Fentanyl Awareness Day. I want to share critical info as a pediatrician & dad.
Drug overdoses now kill the equivalent to a high school classroom of teens every week across the US. About 9 in 10 are caused by fentanyl. 🧵 1/
I remember the day @arorakavita and I had to make the decision to file our #marriageequality petition. We had apprehensions but one thing we were both sure of- we wanted to fight for a more equal future for all the queer young people we work with. Here’s to them 🌈
