Two fine captains, in an effort to set an example for their teams are compromising on their great individual strengths. Because #GT don't have a no 3 who fits into this combination, Hardik is volunteering and moving away from being a feared destroyer. And because he wants #RR to play aggressive cricket, Sanju Samson is volunteering to go too hard too early. Sometimes captains can think too much about others and too little about themselves.

I think Hardik should bat at the number that works best for him which, I believe is no 5. And let Vijay Shanker, Sai Sudarshan and Abhinav Manohar fight for the remaining two spots at no 3 & no 6. And I think with Hetmyer and Jurel to follow, Samson can build an innings where he scores at 150+ anyway.
