Great care last night for my wife from ED consultant Katy Ritson @KatyMAJones - kind, cheerful, thorough, everything one could wish for in an ED doc despite patients waiting and junior staff on strike @RCEMpresident@RCEMPolicyVP@iwgc
@Scotti8550 @cstanaway It's not horrendous optics for Australia at all - good for them for sticking to their rules. I think the decision will be widely respected and saves the embarrassment of Djokovic being constantly booed while he plays.
It's very important to take on board the messages from this seminal paper by fab Jenny Newbould & @garyabel @DrCLSaunders @ProfRoland
showing telephone first results on average 8% increase the mean time spent consulting by GPs https://t.co/uzmE3ediKb
@rupert_pearse Do we know who the very sick / people who die are? Are they broadly unvaccinated? Or, if vaccinated, immuno-suppressed? i.e. do fit vaccinated people get seriously ill?
@ashishkjha One block is getting the 18-25 year olds to be vaccinated. Our govt, against their natural instincts is talking about making vaccination compulsory for night club entry. Very ‘un-conservative’.
@ashishkjha Hope you’re right Ashish. Here in the UK, big experiment of lifting almost all restrictions with loads of delta still about. Early days, but reasonably promising so far.
The rising personal and collective burden of living with multiple conditions poses one of our most significant public health challenges. Read the review to understand the existing evidence, what it offers and the gaps that are left to fill.
This woman hit my car. Her husband was nasty & tried to intimidate me. 5 men in plain clothes jump out of the car to help because he was so awful & he shouts "Don't get involved, I am calling the Police."
They whip their badges out and said "We are the Police, leave her alone."
@trishgreenhalgh Sorry to hear about all the trouble you’re having, but please don’t block me. I’m not a great Twitter poster but I do enjoy reading your and others’ posts. Best wishes, Martin
We’re tired. We’ve had multiple policy U turns on everything from PPE to social distancing. We’ve been asked to deliver the undeliverable. But....
We will keep going
We will look after you
We will look after ourselves
There’s no alternative
Great talk by @sophiepickford on John Maynard Keynes collection of Bloomsbury artists. The rest of the series of talks about the @HeongGallery@downingcollege at 5.30/6.00 this week at https://t.co/jVxo8SDnS6
🗞️ BREAKING: Prostate cancer has become the most commonly diagnosed cancer across the UK.
While it's great more men are talking to their GPs, we must secure the future of research now at risk from the Covid-19 crisis.

@trishgreenhalgh I find this very convincing, thank you Trisha. Evidence that wearing a mask would help me might be weak, but evidence that it might protect others if I was unwittingly excreting virus makes a clear case for wearing them.
Do professors like to hear from former students about good news? There is a prof I had in undergrad who really influenced my decision to pursue philosophy, and wrote my letters of recommendation for my MA. Should I write her to tell her about my PhD program acceptance?
