Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Chennai under the aegis of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), organised a Joint Search and Rescue (SAR) workshop & Table top exercise in Chennai on June 17, 2026.

Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Dr Amit Shivkumar Telang, in his inaugural address, highlighted the need for enhanced inter-agency cooperation for saving valuable lives at sea. The event witnessed participation of multiple agencies from members of IORA.
