@candyman7171@firstroundmock I Got clarification from Riley Poles today at the special teams wonderlick testing center. He mentioned Caleb will NOT get traded this offseason. Sounds like a false alarm
Best time of the year where all the best scouts come to make a name for themselves. Where I got my early starts that allowed me to be a 3x NFL Pro Personnel of the year nominee. Hopefully see some familiar faces there!!

@candyman7171@firstroundmock If you are feel free to reach out. Will be conducting interviews with all the QBs this week to get further insight on completing the big board
@firstroundmock Excellent post. It’s why it was so obvious to everyone around the league that Caleb Williams would excel in Chicago coming into a great situation. The results speak for themself and now he’s entering the season as the 8th best QB in the league.
@firstroundmock@candyman7171
I do agree when you about Cam Ward in terms of getting off the spot. He reminds me of a poor mans Caleb Williams. And indeed Mendoza is stoic in the pocket. Reminds me of Tom Brady. No wonder the GOAT is going to draft him. He knows what he sees
@firstroundmock@Palotahoe Great point. every bit of info is like a puzzle piece. Have to look at the whole body of work. It’s why we often make adjustments to certain stats like completion % if there’s a lot of drops or most of the throws are check downs. Every proscout in the NFL does this of course
@candyman7171 Excellent post. Its always about the small details when it comes to scouting. As a current NFL scout, I see it everyday. Hopefully Daniel takes me up on my job offer as a pro personnel assistant on his journey back into the league
@firstroundmock@w_duby@TheHerd@colincowherd Wow. Very interesting. For Calebs peers to already put him as a top 10 QB speaks volumes. There’s an old saying in Scouting, “if you don’t know, ask the players”. No one knows better than the guys that have to line up against him on the field. What an objective list @candyman7171
@firstroundmock@SkolStateOfMind Exactly right. That’s why it’s so imperative to draft QBs based on the value they display on tape. For example, if the saints had overdrafted Rattler, a clear 5th round talent. They would have never drafted a more talented replacement in Shough
@firstroundmock It’s a conversation worth having. Spencer proved he was capable of managing a game. He showed he can deliver low risk throws and give his defense a chance to keep them in the game. I think Minnesota could be a great fit to learn behind McCarthy and under O’Donnel @candyman7171
@mtiley17@firstroundmock Sir I encourage you to check my credentials. I’m an active part of these conversations with GMs around the league. This is the price tag Caleb Williams demands today.
@candyman7171@firstroundmock@dougsnicholson Check out the all22 footage. Being able to see the full depth of the pocket is so vital. The way he manipulates the defense and segments off the field through route concept leverage. It’s like he’s orchestrating a symphony back there. Moving fluid like water
@firstroundmock@hailmarysportss@svigg82 I would strongly advise to use all22 film. It’s imperative. I don’t think it’s possible to accurately grade secondary positions across the field without it. Certainly not the oline/dline. Happy to try and get you access. It’s what all the pro scouts use. @firstroundmock
@candyman7171 I remember Daniel coming up in the scouting world. Was too bad it didn’t work out with the Jets. Surprised he hasn’t gotten another opportunity in the league in the last 27 years. I do know of some assistant openings where he could work his way up. I’ll reach out. Happy to help
@firstroundmock As a current NFL scout – I’ve gotten to know Kevin O’Donnell. He is a QB guru. He absolutely will be able to help Rattler reach his ceiling. Have no doubt Rattler on the Vikings will be able to serve as a consistent solid back up. Best part, Rattlers trade value is only a 6R pick
@firstroundmock Such a well concept offense when you put it this way. These stats paint a great picture. Attack middle of the field with YAC. Opens up the run game. Pull the safeties up. Play action over the top for the big play. Ben Johnson is a genius. And Caleb is the engine that makes it go
@candyman7171 Look at the production on that deep ball. 21 TDs attacking down the field really helped open up the run game which shows (7th round RB outperforming 1st RB Jeanty). Cool to see Ben Johnson tailor the whole offense around Caleb’s intermediate-long throws.
