“We’re busy building, we can’t be bothered with legal” is the most VC thing I’ve heard in years.

At the height of One Million Checkboxes's popularity I thought I'd been hacked. A few hours later I was tearing up, extraordinarily proud of some brilliant teens.

As if subscription-based hardware isn't bad enough...

Peloton is now charging a $95 "used equipment activation fee" if you buy on the secondhand market.

Tip: Just buy a regular bike and strap an iPad to it.

🚨Google AI Studio continues to struggle with data exfiltration vulnerabilities ⚠️

This demo shows silent data exfiltration of employee feedback and performance reviews through prompt injection in one of the feedback entries. The POC triggers data exfiltration via rendering image tags with a transparent pixel to send all records to a third party server.

So, be careful what you upload and analyze with AI Studio.

Here is why relying on IPv6-only VMs can be problematic. In 2024, github .com still does not support IPv6, only IPv4. 🤡 I'm now redeploying VM with IPv4 with special IPv4 tax from AWS.

Ok, this is pretty crazy.

SQL has been the lingua franca of database querying since the dawn of time.

But for the first time in over three decades (!), ISO just published a NEW database query language called GQL -- the Graph Query Language!

I have 3 VERY SHORT QUESTIONS for you if you use RxJS. Please take a minute to respond to this poll. I'm not collecting anything but your input.

(Even if you don't use RxJS can you please retweet this so I can collect as many responses as possible?)

I think I found a pretty decent way to use #opentelemetry for side-projects. I like that I don't need additional hosted services:

How much does a Gartner subscription cost for a single seat?

This is pretty hush-hush category. If you have details, feel free to reply or DM.

I understand it’s well over $10,000/year, likely closer to 6 figures for just a single seat.

@jasongorman Interesting enough ai-generated tests could be a match. At least that's where co-pilot really shines for me. Probably because of the sequentiell nature.

Oh dear ... "monthly active users of the products or services" ... so, you need to track? That's a killing blow to open source projects. It's also combined with a "don't get too big or we own you" clause ...
