The prohibition of enforced disappearance is grounded in the protection of fundamental rights, including freedom, due process, and human dignity.

Noorullah Tareen and Hanif Pashteen must be afforded these protections in accordance with Pakistan’s Constitution and international obligations.

MISSING, NOT FORGOTTEN - Day 131 (22nd March 2026)

When someone is in prison, their family at least knows where they are.

But enforced disappearance takes that away. It leaves families in constant uncertainty, waiting for answers that never seem to come.

No one should be left in that space of not knowing.

I urge the authorities to bring Noorullah Tareen and Hanifullah Pashteen before a court, or return them safely to their loved ones.
