@darachos Far as I know even if no ones claiming it the work remains in copyright for the time. For example the wonderful Irish artist Flora Mitchell O'Connor is in copyright even though living descendants can't be found. She's an orphaned artist who therefore can't be legally reproduced.
@gutterbookshop Best of luck with everything in the future. The Gutter's an amazing achievement and I can't wait to see what books you have to write yourself.
@MacaTelly @Lamhfada While yes a lot of posh students go to Trinity, a decent chunk are also just average people. I have friends/family who went to Trinity who went to deis schools and aren't from rich areas. And that was 15 years ago. So protesting prices for them is great.
A waitress in a cafe today told me how lovely I am and that she wished all customers were like me and the strength I needed not to just cry on a random corner of Bruges from how nice that was.
@unaminhkavanagh I'm so sorry. You've given Cyril a wonderful, loving home, and though it's hard, it's the right time and choice and the last bit of kindness he needs from you.
I cannot POSSIBLY be any clearer (as someone who worked in IT managing some of this country's biggest databases)
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE PROVIDE PICTURES OF THEIR PASSPORTS OR DRIVING LICENCES
ESPECIALLY NOT
to databases outside the GDPR
THREAD:
It's sad but also heartening that whenever I say I work in a library the reaction from people is 'you haven't had those horrible people in have you?' The vast majority of people don't support them.
