@Caulimovirus no, but also my notifications thinger doesn't even show when i have any now (for quite a while now), which admittedly is really kind of nice.
@lowerthetemp@benfeldman2000@lxeagle17 yeah sadly he's very real and was saying similar nonsense as a "serious person" in Aus politics. not entirely sure what his twitter objective is tho, if he thinks he's triggering the libs or something. idk it's just laughably silly. that being said:

@GalenMetzger1 to Eric's point, whenever i see medical professionals attempting to educate and encourage actual safety in response, said conservatives often demonize and once again evoke moral panic. it's not a useful baseline, similar to most hardline drug framing for decades in the US.
@GalenMetzger1 i don't know anyone that thinks there isn't a problem, but when people in what-should-be respected positions make it seem like being within 30 feet of fentanyl will make you immediately have a drug-induced seizure, that's _harmful_ to serious discussion and is a moral panic.
@lukeoneil47 honestly don't understand what people even mean when they say things like this. there never seems to be an example of what a band could do 30 years ago that couldn't be done now. if it's just a "kids today!" shaking your fist at the air thing fine but i don't think that's the msg
@ProsinPlanet sounds like the guy could've used some friendly advice on how to reconnect/get to know his child, and maybe a pointer on resources for alcoholism. instead he gets this prick trying to push the guy into hating some fictional global cabal instead of helping a family. bummer.
