@JamesSurowiecki @besttrousers If both parties are claiming the other will end democracy (e.g., she's a communist; he's a fascist), any poll that has democracy as its top issue is inherently ambigious and allows the respondent to imply whatever they want into the answer. Perfect for talking heads.

@PopovaProf That's true. And, I doubt the UKRs interests were really any factor in the strike decision. But, the benefit to other countries (UKR) as a result of striking the choke points for Iranian missile production could not have gone unnoticed.

@STEMthebleeding I accept the conclusion that M has voted independently. But, I can't see getting from A to B by way of a cabinet position; the committee chair offer - I believe - would be countered by a GOP matching offer.

@STEMthebleeding Or, offers a cabinet post; Collins/Murkowski represent states where the governor DOES NOT need to appoint a replacement from the same party. However, imagine C or M being confirmed by a the GOP, which then loses its majority as a result of that confirmation.

@BoiJuanda @notcapnamerica I am not criticizing you. I am, however, wondering why those who complain about not codyfying Roe can't seem to do the simple research on how laws get passed. The straightest line (imo) is win the election, keep the Senate, and HOPE that A and T retire, then overrule Dobbs.

@emptywheel Knowledge of jury instructions probably depends upon whether those serving juror-attorneys are actual trial attorneys. Many attorneys go through an entire career not being exposed to jury instructions - e.g., tax, business attorneys.
