Amazing and comprehensive guide to adding, updating and debugging bioinformatics software tools on Bioconda by @jfy133 (expanding on his earlier blogpost) - if you do bioinformatics software dev, it is truly all you need to get started with Bioconda
📢 We're excited to introduce Pathoplexus, a specialized sequence database for human viral pathogens! 🌍 🧬

Our 2 bridge RNA papers are finally published in @Nature! Check out the incredible CryoEM structures, they're truly beautiful. A years-long rollercoaster ride, it's hard for me to imagine a more exciting project than this. Thank you to @ntperry13, @pdhsu, and our amazing team!
Reminder! Effective June 2024, older API and CLI versions of NCBI Datasets will no longer be supported. Install the latest version and learn how to access the new API (v2alpha): https://t.co/BfKvTMnoeu

My thoughts exactly. C gives a way better introduction on how the computer and OS actually work beneath one's own program. Also one will appreciate other languages (e.g. C++) way more after learning how complicated it can be to get stuff done in C.
As far as languages to use in introductory Computer Science courses, I actually don't think C is that bad, and, in fact, is way better than Java and Python; don't @ me.
It’s truly pathetic that this is the endgame of social media. A powerful tool for education and organization co-opted into a dead-eyed utopia for brands to post the most saccharine shit imaginable and have it forced into your feed. Happy meal ass app.

If only the editors of Bioinformatics (@OUPBioinfo), the flagship journal of @iscb, would take a stand against their high APC fees ($3618, even for a 2-page Applications Note)... https://t.co/huOfPV9Vju
