The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

this is a banger from @JeffBezos! I just wish it was narrated by his AI voice instead of a generic one. The future is articles narrated by the journalists who write them

Having a successful startup doesn’t mean you can’t have a family.
When my wife and I decided to have a kid, our situation wasn’t ideal. Here’s what I mean:
1) We lived in a one-bedroom apartment.
2) I’d launched 3 startups but hadn’t made it big. While I’d just raised $3m, I was paying myself the bare minimum to survive.
3) None of our friends had kids. People in our circle thought having a family was a negative thing.
But we did it anyway. Even though everyone thought we were crazy.
Some parts of it were hard. Not having a community around the experience of parenthood was trying. Lonely, even.
But even given our extreme circumstances, at no point did I regret having a child. Just like in entrepreneurship, being a parent has had its ups and downs, but at the end of the day, it’s a continuous source of joy and meaning.
So happy to finally unveil our partnership with @btno!
It's been a pleasure working with their fantastic team to clone a voice that captures Bergen's distinct dialect and brings audio to their articles.
🚀 Exciting news! We’ve partnered with @btno, Norway's largest regional media house.

Aftenposten embraces AI voice articles: "When we started to look into younger people and their media habits we saw that having a product that offered everything in both audio and in writing could be a great opportunity" https://t.co/qX1F1LgQia https://t.co/qX1F1LgQia
In light of all the attention on AI voice cloning, let’s not forget the ‘boring bit’ that makes it possible for publishers to use AI voices at scale with confidence
Voice cloning is booming, but robust text preprocessing is undervalued.
Without it, controlling speech output is an uphill battle, limiting the enterprise potential of even the most novel voice cloning technologies
