@mycoliza consider, though: i own a USB-A to microUSB cable but it's not microUSB because it runs TTL serial over the data pins (and there's an FTDI in the USB-A side)

@grhmc Occam's razor: why did Tweag, which presumably saw a lot of worth in Nix, not fund this UX improvement (which was known to be needed "for years") but instead wait for Target? And it seems unlikely a consulting firm would not let the company that hired them not have any say

@grhmc (I don't really mind this, though. I'm more disappointed in a lot more of the details, such as flakerefs being github-centric; no consideration of the alternatives in the RFC; the RFC; the Nix2 UX immediately being ruined for non-flakes; experimental features; etc)
