This trial randomly assigned patients with coma after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest to undergo targeted hypothermia at 33°C or normothermia with treatment of fever. At 6 months, there were no significant between-group differences regarding death or functional outcomes.
The interleukin-6 receptor blockers tocilizumab and sarilumab were tested against standard care in a randomized trial involving patients newly admitted to the intensive care unit and requiring respiratory or blood-pressure support. #COVID19#IDTwitter
Even though supplemental oxygen is used for the treatment of patients with hypoxemic respiratory failure, the most effective oxygenation targets are not known. In this randomized trial, a lower oxygenation target did not result in lower mortality than a higher target.
