It’s an epidemic - countless kids have pucks “die on their stick” nearly every play, and often bad coaches praise their “talent”, since they can skate, but they’re puck blind. 🤢

KIDS: This is my biggest pet peeve in hockey.

Skating the puck to your teammate and then giving it to to them.

You want to make the ice easier for your teammates, not harder. By skating the puck directly to them, you are bringing the defenders there too. It takes away any time and space.

Either move it quick to them, or draw people towards you (away from them) and then give it.

On this goal, CGY turns it over because of exactly this. The D skates it all the way to the F, bringing the tracker right to him. Once the F gets the puck, he gets pressured immediately from the tracker and the puck goes the other way.

I see this SO MUCH in youth hockey. Make the ice easier for your teammates.

At the time of this speech, the main takeaway from Dan Campbell was “I don’t care if you have one ass cheek and three toes, I will beat your ass.”

Looking back, there’s a much deeper meaning here. The coaches, the front office and the players all knew what he meant and they all bought in.

The culture of this Lions team was built off speeches just like this. Possibly built off this exact one.

@EAHelp I’ve finished every challenge in MUT 23 for the AKA New Class, with the exception of “Rodrigo” because every time I try to play it I get an error message that says “our servers cannot process your request at this time”. I’ve rebooted my system and still nothing. Help! 🤷🏻‍♂️
