Greater Chennai Corporation suspends an assistant executive engineer, posted in deputation to Bus Routes Roads department, following a TOI story on the @chennaicorp floating dummy tenders worth Rs 2 crores, for projects that were already completed.

The order by GCC commissioner J Kumaragurubaran said, “while enquiry into the grave charges against the AEE is contemplated, it is necessary in public interest to place the official under suspension from service.”
