@ArmchairAdml No, it was well known and you Ukraine Nafo clowns jumped to conclusions as usual and it wasn’t a hard sell since most of you already hate Elon
@bennysweens@DaraghCassidy It was hardly about your national internet infrastructure, it’s an outrage post crying about a ceo in a distant country not sharing your political opinions and that he’s basically Hitler and should be punished and can’t be trusted etc etc
That’s what that was about
Well. Mr. Smarty-Pants. Let me give you the run-down of what you just said:
You wish to build a Mega-Constellation of high-bandwidth high-density low-cost satellites with affordable, portablöe ground terminals and subscription plans.
For that you need:
- highly advanced phase-array antenna steering signal and DSP processing ASICS - you do not have them
- the largest PCB factory on the North American Continent, based in EUs population x2 - you don't have it
- a satellite manufacturing facitly that can pump out a 2-digit amount of satellite PER DAY - you do not have it
- space ports that can support launches with single-digit days of turnaround - you do not have them
- an - at least - partially resuable launch vehicle with just days of turnaround time and a corresponding manufacturing cadence for ALL components of such launch vehicle - you do not have it
- about a thousand medium to little things more to make any of this work
Let me pull you back to reality: SpaceX currently launches beyond of 90% of mass to orbit per year. Not in the US. GLOBALLY. China can't compete. No one in the US can compete. India can't. Japan can't.
SpaceX - led by Musk and Shotwell - is a global Unicorn. Europe - and the EU and particular - have no idea, no framework - no plan and NO PATH to make this happen in any reasonable amount of time that one might consider short- to mid-term.
You CANNOT copy it if you tried. You could spend half the EUs budget on it and end up with 10 satellites in orbit.
You are DELUSIONAL. If you truly wish what you say, you'd appear in front of the European Commission and Parliament tomorrow and demand deletion of 80-90% of our red tape and bureaucratic lunacy.
Until you do that, you're a useless moron.
@bigseb31213 “Everyone is too incompetent to build this service or a competitor so we’re gonna steal it and let the incompetent people run it”
Who are you communists
@MFabricius@jefferinc But we can’t.
And if you’re gonna insult some private person at least be informed enough to get it correct. The throttled service is starshield and it’s under pentagon control not “the whims of Elon” as the screeching goes today
@AstroTerry Nationalizing is such a lazy concept, it’s not his fault his competitors and the government are incapable buffoons who can’t build or maintain or manage their own similar business or infrastructure.
You lot would drive it into the ground in no time
@AstroTerry It’s crazy how many educated adults in advanced job positions are complete clowns.
It’s starshield, not starlink, and it’s controlled by the U.S. government (pentagon), not spacex.
@Deathswap1 lol what European competitor you guys think companies just grow like trees, the ground isn’t fertile enough in Europe nothings gonna grow
Also, starlink aren’t allowed to be used for war only starshield and that’s controlled by the pentagon and not spacex
