Very true, except you’re underestimating the moats: ease-of-use, security, human support. SaaS firms that do this very well - especially in stodgy or security first industries along with for smaller firms - will continue to capture a large part of the market because not everyone will want to build or maintain their own solution. What will definitely happen is the cost of building custom and niche solutions will be so low that many people will build their own and/or purchase something at a very low price. CRMs especially given they are so overpriced and not difficult to develop.

What an incredibly poor decision for OpenAI and the future of the planet.

We should never give private companies powers that are reserved for government - e.g. private prisons and police forces - but private businesses should also not be forced to help governments with malign activities. It’s reasonable for a private company to refuse to help the government kill someone or violate their privacy.

Peter Steinberger is joining OpenAI to drive the next generation of personal agents. He is a genius with a lot of amazing ideas about the future of very smart agents interacting with each other to do very useful things for people. We expect this will quickly become core to our product offerings.

OpenClaw will live in a foundation as an open source project that OpenAI will continue to support. The future is going to be extremely multi-agent and it's important to us to support open source as part of that.
