The difference is the higher vehicle utilization, duty cycle & payload ratio for commercial vehicles, for which batteries are a very poor fit.

@SolarInMASS@JigarShahDC Agreed. I still see so much resistance in red states towards renewables (and away from nat gas). The choice needs to be an absolute no-brainer.
Analogy: we used horses for 1000's of years. The replacement had to be FAR better (horse industry also pushed back very hard).
Hearing my Delta flight attendant explain to his colleagues that powering electric vehicles with a single, centralized power plant “is so much more efficient” than powering millions of small, individual engines with oil, is warming my heart.
@JasonBordoff It doesn't mean that the Paris accord was a bad idea. What it indicates is the high level of commitment and consensus required to clean up the mess we've made over 250+ years of elevated carbon emissions. The industries that got rich on that, don't want to give up their pie.
