I don’t use this account as much as I would like but I’m about to start a new job and leave front line social work after 5.5 years. It’s been a wild ride of highs and lows, I have seen some incredible things, and have been privileged to be part of some amazing peoples lives.
@themisscocoperu was incredible tonight. I really needed a good laugh after a really hard week of social work… but what I needed even more was hope, and she offered a reminder of the power of kindness and giving back! After all, it’s our legacy as queers and enby’s :)
@OceanOnStage I know it hasn’t been long… but I already miss this show. It means so much to me. I really hope it gets to come back, or national theatre has recorded it. It would be heartbreaking to never see it again 💙💙💙
@socialworkO I don’t understand how as social workers we have to be culturally competent, but there seems to be an expectation that this doesn’t apply to lgbt people….
@againstgrmrs I was left alone… when I was being beaten up by straight people for being queer before I even knew what queer meant. I was left completely alone only knowing that something about me was apparently evil and I deserved to be hurt and abused by people like you. I was left alone…
Saw Suzie Izzard‘s one woman show of great expectations and WOW she was phenomenal. Entertaining, funny, powerful, and very enjoyable. Unfortunately someone was taken I’ll during the first half and Suzie handled a very difficult situation with respect and poise👏👏👏@eddieizzard
Also…. Is the comment about shoes? I have always assumed it was about wearing your ‘stripper heals’ to work. Especially after seeing some work inspired by Berlin in the art book :) or is this comment double entendre?
Hey @amandapalmer in your song Berlin, would you say ‘how you peddle in those is a miracle’ was a comment you make to yourself? Or a comment you received from others? Or was it to someone you know? Art is being made and I want to try to capture your context perfectly 🖤
Today’s social work. I have a child who locks themselves in their room, a common theme since lockdown. Today, we managed to go to the park and I told them the story of @neilhimself ocean at the end of the lane. My question to her… can you be brave? Today she could :)
@IslingtonsPride really sad to see that the Islington green heritage trail was vandalised. We added flags to try to combat the black marker which we tried and failed to remove. Very sad that in 2022 marks of history are being vandalised and our visibility is being removed.
Got my partner jack a beautiful print from @neilhimself@OceanOnStage at the end of the lane for his birthday. We can’t see it in the west end any more but really looking forward to seeing it near home at the mayflower next year! Until then we have this wonderful print 💙💙💙
@nationalrailenq I lost my headphones at kings cross station. I can see them on my ‘find my’ app. I have registered them lost but before they be booked and sent to storage is there any way I can contact the station to see if I can get them collected today?
@LNER@AvantiWestCoast@nationalrailenq It looks like someone at the station has it. One of the guards at the gate. No way to get through to them? If I know someone has them I can get a colleague to come pick them up! Thank you!!!
@AvantiWestCoast@nationalrailenq@LNER@LNER help me please!!! I have had the worst morning but have been helped by some absolute superstars at kings cross. Please don’t let my luck run out 💙💙💙
@Tesco Unfortunately it was whilst I was on a trip I don’t normally make. Is there any way of getting in contact with the store as it’s going to be very difficult to get there myself.
