@utvghana I wish we could replicate this in Nigeria. Having a school's quiz dominanting Entertainment headlines is a massive win for academics. Love you, guys.
@SuperSmada Except you are fucking him..
I don't see a reason a helper would steal your clothes and still has the effontery to put it on in your presence. Something is buried within the action.
This misinformation, dribbling and muddling of information will never be accepted.
Hubert Ogunde was a stage performer who
later featured in film late 1979.
Film making and stage performance are completely different things.
Crowning him as the founder of film industry is very wrong because Nigerians were already featured in the film โPalaverโ the very first film made in Nigeria in 1926.
Ogundeโs theater came into existence in 1944 with stage performance, which he moves around squares entertaining people.
In fact King Elejigbo and Princess Abeje of Kontagora was the earliest African performance history. Staged in 1902, it represents the very first full-length, scripted modern West African play, emerging more than 40 years before Hubert Ogunde came.
What Ogunde did was an upgrade of โAlarinjoโ in Yoruba, The Traveling Theatre, which has its equivalents across cultures in west Africa.
How does that translate to film making?
This is the same way a lot of people muddled up things around Afrobeats and Afrobeat.
Fela named his genre โAfrobeatโ his style of music very distinct and unique far from pop โAfrobeatsโ we know today which started around early 2000s.
These things are completely different things, but you wonโt stop alluding its creation to Fela.
Hubert Ogunde was not into film making till 1979.
Whereas someone like Levi Ezeasor was already directing film that even won Oscar in 1949.
From research, People who truly pioneered film making in Nigeria were sent to Ghana by the British to be trained. They include: Mallam Yakubu Auna, A.A. Fajemisin, and J.A. Otigbah.
3 of them can lay that claim not Ogunde.
Ogunde cannot be linked to Nollywood, Nollywood was birthed by Living in Bondage in 1992. Thatโs when the word we coined.
All these claims cannot stand a true test of intellectual scrutiny.
I donโt blame any of you really, I blame people who have refused to invest in the media.
@Beniwiner@GTgiftie Your friend who has been with you during your rough patches and supported you when you have nothing is not worthy for opportunity?
May your mindset never cross path with me.
@creative_yua Please Traficator is a standard English. That is a British English. It would better you say it's an archaic word or old British word. It's still widely used even in western world.
@oxladeofficial@troniqmusic 2 hours later, 10 comments. Boy, your pride and arrogance killed your career. I hope you got a skill or degree? Asking because it's a long journey for you ooh.
