D'you remember how in university, math and physics professors would sometimes let you create and bring in one single handwritten sheet of equations to refer to on exams? But you had to take the time to create the sheet, and to figure out which equations might be useful?

That kind of feels like the way we're all using context windows right now: clumsily trying to guess and supply whatever information might be useful to the model for answering a question

when the reality is that we should be treating this entire system like having access to the world's best assistant who can dynamically figure out what information to bring in sans specific guidance, and dependent on whatever question we're trying to solve
