Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Nuuk as the US opened a new consulate in Greenland’s capital, rejecting President Donald Trump’s renewed interest in the semi-autonomous Danish territory and chanting “No means no.”

She says that the citizens of the municipality are still marked by the aggressive American reports in relation to Greenland.

Malene Vahl Rasmussen says that she has not previously had the opportunity to deliver the letter with the protest - but she has now.

"I represent the citizens of the municipality, but I also represent my country and I will do everything possible to protect it.

- Do you still feel your country is in danger?

- Yes, answers a clearly touched and weeping Malene Vahl Rasmussen.

- It's not okay. That's not how you treat your allies," she said of the U.S. government's way of acting.
