A 15-year-old dream has come true today. I started a PhD with the dream of creating a system that chants any Sanskrit shloka perfectly.
And here I am opening sourcing 𝐕𝐚𝐠𝐝𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐮 - 𝐀 𝐯ṛ𝐭𝐭𝐚 (𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫) 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 ś𝐥𝐨𝐤𝐚-𝐭𝐨-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭-𝐭𝐨-𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡 (TTS) 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐤𝐫𝐢𝐭. This is the world's first vrutta-aware, open-source TTS for Sanskrit Chanting.

My apologies if this hurts anyone. The intention is not personal ridicule but an effort towards unbiased observation.
Forget vaccines vs autism for a second.
I am honestly tired of unprofessionalism in doctors. It is worse than some hero fan factions fighting with each other. You can see how rude, arrogant, entitled and ridiculous some of the medical doctors are on X.
Medical doctors really are not scientists. Many of them cannot even understand all the statistical features in a study. 😮 In fact, you dont need much statistics to pass MBBS in India. Not even high school level stats.
A car mechanic will likely know little about thermodynamics and Bose Einstein distribution. Just because one has a certificate from car repair schools and works on fixing cars, one does not become a leading expert in thermodynamics or stat mech. Yet, a physics researchers, who is an expert in stat mech, may not be able to repair your car as well as a mechanic.
Medical docs somehow feel off that they are scientists and that this whole debate is about science vs non-science.
We appreciate your car mechanic efforts. It is not about one being above the other. A car mechanic should focus on what they are good at. Explain risk vs benefits. Be professional. Follow basic medical ethics. Do not just force people. Explain and let patient make their informed decision. Stop abusing them in this co:dependent toxic way.
To
The People of India,
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation @mybmc
Respected Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis @Dev_Fadnavis
Hon. Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi @narendramodi
I am not an activist. I am not here to fight or tear anyone down. I am writing to you as a citizen of our country, a fellow Indian, with a basic yet fundamental right—the right to clean air.
Every day, I see people around me in Mumbai getting sicker. I feel it in my own body too. The air we breathe is no longer just air—it is harming our lungs, our hearts, and our future. We cannot ignore this any longer.
Today, I have a humble yet urgent plea to our Respected Chief Minister, our Honorable Prime Minister, and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Please reconsider the allocation of funds for something the city does not need right now.
Mumbai does not need a giant Ferris wheel. What we need—what we desperately need—is clean air.
I appeal to every citizen of India, to parents, educators, and school principals. You know absenteeism in schools is rising. You see children struggling with breathing issues, missing out on their education and their childhood. I appeal to doctors, who witness the growing number of patients with respiratory illnesses. Pediatricians, you know how many young children are suffering from asthma and lung infections caused by polluted air.
To personal trainers, athletes, and fitness enthusiasts—I ask you to pause and reflect. We encourage people to exercise, to run, to train for a healthier life. But what happens when they do this in toxic air? Are we truly helping them, or are we unknowingly harming them?
This is also a heartfelt appeal to nutritionists, doctors, wellness experts, and health influencers. You know that food and medicine alone cannot fix this. No superfood, no supplement, no treatment can undo the damage that breathing polluted air does to our bodies every single day.
And to celebrities, athletes, and people with influence—your voice matters. You have the power to bring attention to this crisis. Let us use our platforms not just for endorsements but for a cause that impacts every single Indian. Let us urge our leaders to focus on what we truly need as human beings.
We cannot afford to be mere bystanders anymore. This is not resilience. This is a slow surrender.
We have children and aging parents struggling to breathe. We have newborns taking their first breaths of air that should never enter fragile lungs. The future of our health does not depend on just more medicine, more nutrition, or more meditation. It depends on the basics—the right to clean air, clean water, and clean food.
I do not claim to have all the answers. But I do know this—the money allocated for a Ferris wheel could be used to clean the air in our city.
This is not about fighting. This is about uniting. Hatred and anger will not solve this crisis, but our collective voice, our unwavering plea for change, will.
To every parent watching their child suffer, to every citizen who wakes up to a smog-filled skyline—speak up. Our voice matters.
During the COVID-19 pandemic when the nation rallied for health and wellness, Hon. Prime Minister, your amazing Fit India Movement @FitIndiaOff nominated me as the Wellness and Lifestyle Champion. Today, I carry that responsibility forward. My humble plea is that we need clean air, not just for fitness, but for a healthier, stronger, and cleaner India.
Let us not wait for another crisis to act. We are with you. Let's act together now.
With humility, respect, urgency, and hope,
Luke Coutinho

It’s a wedding reception. The bride’s favorite cousin… whom she hasn’t met in many years… is on stage giving her the gift he’s brought. She wants to hang on to the moment. She wants to savour it. She makes a big scene… getting all emotional and insisting she wears the jewellery he’s gifted her, right there on the stage. She wants him to tie the anklets he’s got for her. All this plays out unhurriedly, much to the restless irritation of everyone waiting behind in the queue to handover their gifts, get photos clicked and ‘mark their attendance.’ Much to the awkward embarrassment of the cousin himself. The impatience of the queue grows… he becomes more aware of it. There’s tension in the air. The bride couldn’t care less. She insists.
He gives in, helplessly. And then the director switches to 48 frames per second. Slowing down the moment even further. She relishes it… slowly feeling every beat. Her infectious affection gets to him. He relaxes. And he logs in too. Feeling every bit as emotionally overwhelmed as her. Slowly, the queue and the crowd’s restlessness dissipates. They log in too. Everyone has a shared experience… feeling the power of the moment.
It felt so meta on so many levels. It’s as if the film tells us to push past the restlessness, impatience and rushed nature of our lives. Only then can beauty be relished. Only then can the power of love and everything beautiful in this world be savoured. And it also felt like the filmmaker was affectionately testing his audience. Teasing us if we can push past the restlessness. If you can’t, you might want to disembark from the bus and stop the ride that is this film, at that very point. But if you can…. there’s infinite beauty in the film to be felt and relished. I savoured every bit of it. All the while shedding copious amounts of alkaline liquid from my eyes. Thank you Prem and the team. ♥️♥️
Over the last few years, especially post-pandemic, the food landscape of #Hyderabad has exploded! Coffee shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, breweries, biryani and mandi joints, every single area has seen a new eatery opening up every other week - a mark of the mushrooming population and the development eco-system.

StackOverflow is laying off 28% of its workforce.
This may be the first large layoff directly due to AI:
> people asking ChatGPT instead of StackOverflow
> usage & ad revenue declines
> having to lay people off to stay profitable / survive
