Pushing Qwen2.5-Coder-32B on a standard 24 GB M4 iMac (120 GB/s):

• Community MLX average: ~6.0 tok/s
• Our quality-safe speed: 8.20 tok/s = 36% faster
• Our absolute peak: 9.05 tok/s = 51% faster

We are not doing complex speculative decoding yet.
We got here through highly tuned static layer routing. By identifying and statically skipping the least useful transformer blocks during generation, we reduce the memory-read bottleneck instead of wasting bandwidth on work that matters less.

~10 tok/s is the practical ceiling for this hardware class. We are pushing close to that limit without letting the model’s logic fall apart.

In short: local AI means nothing if it is unusable and slow, right?

That is exactly why we are grinding on this until we know it is done and ready for the public to try.

In theory, anyone will be able to take the open-source code and tune it for their own machine and LLM setup, so more people can run better, smarter, more capable models locally.
