@tyLanasaurusrex A5: I want to work for a district that prioritizes equity and anti-oppressive education. This also factors into #edtech; students and families shouldn’t be expected to use tech tools if the district doesn’t ensure equitable access (e.g., providing chrome books) #pstpln#CI5307

@tyLanasaurusrex A4: Other #CI5307 students should follow @iHartEricka! While her focus is on sex ed, I think ALL educators can benefit from her insights on identity and oppression, particularly the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, class, and health! She's taught me SO much. #pstpln
@NhiaChang3@tyLanasaurusrex @MrLostetter I love that you mentioned social-emotional learning and how important it is to pair it with tech. Especially since so much of our students' lives revolve around online spaces and content, the two are increasingly inseparable!
@clairec0nn0lly @tyLanasaurusrex Totally agree that edtech is super important for meeting needs for students with disabilities and also usually enhances learning for all students too!
@tyLanasaurusrex A3: #EdTech can be an equalizer, but also a source of inequity if all students don't have access. By providing all students with tech tools and teaching tech literacy, we can help shrink opportunity gaps and improve access to essential skills and information #pstpln#CI5307
If one group of people benefit from the code of ethics and other groups of people are harmed by it...it’s probably not a code of ethics. It’s probably white supremacy.
@Megan_biology@tyLanasaurusrex@CAST_UDL@MrMonsonTech This is a great point on how we can use tech to adapt our lessons to varying linguistic needs. Sometimes we inadvertently assess writing skills, instead of understanding of content which puts some students at a disadvantage. I think so many would benefit from audio assignments!
@emmacozzi82@tyLanasaurusrex@CAST_UDL Totally agree that tech helps us make our content more accessible for both students with disabilities and students with varying learning styles and needs
