While people’s desire to defend DEI is well-intentioned, let’s be real: most corporate DEI “efforts” are just window dressing—which is harmful when they conceal these same corporations’ racialized exploitation of workers/consumers.
If you want equity in your workplace, unionize.
Just to be clear, you are defending a Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity.
People can officially stop listening to you as any sort of reputable source of information now. You work for them. Thank you for making that crystal clear to all.
The people losing CBP One appointments were patiently waiting in Mexico & complying with a smart process that could modernize asylum. Eliminating CBPOne is not only deeply unfair to the human beings who were following the rules, but this move will destabilize the border.
I called @SenWarren and @SenMarkey to thank them for their NO vote and @RepPressley for voting against the bill yesterday.
If you like what your legislators do, they should hear from you.
If you don't like what your legislators do, they should hear from you.
It's gotten ZERO attention but this law authorizes state AGs like Ken Paxton to seek court orders forcing the executive branch to detain and deport specific people, overturn individual humanitarian parole decisions, and most worryingly, cease issuing visas to entire countries.
6/28- SCOTUS rules cities can arrest homeless folks for sleeping outside, even when there isn't shelter
Dec- #PresidentMusk tweets lies about homelessness
12/9- Neely murderer acquitted and celebrated, invited to party w/ Trump & Vance
12/22- Homeless women set on fire, murdered
The way society talks about homelessness is and will keep getting homeless folks killed.

3. Some Dem politicians will use this election as an excuse to adopt right-wing policies on immigration, taxes, etc. We need to stop them & ensure that the Dem Party fights for the rights & needs of working people. You can’t win what you don’t fight for.
A couple thoughts on the election:
1. Incumbents worldwide are losing due to inflation (driven by post-pandemic supply shocks, war in Ukraine, etc.).
This is true of both left-wing and right-wing incumbents, who have pursued a range of economic policies.

2. We have progressive answers on affordability— on lowering the cost of housing, childcare, college, elder care, prescription drugs, etc. We should run on these things, and organize for them at the state level.

BREAKING: The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against real estate software company RealPage, alleging that the company's algorithm is used by landlords who collude to raise rents.
This housing cartel and their algorithmic conspiracy could be why rent is up 20% since 2020.
UAW Region 9a leader Brandon Mancilla says in an interview with Jacobin that he and his union are not impressed with Republicans’ supposed pro-worker turn — and he explains what a real progressive, working-class agenda would look like. https://t.co/WOBdL45mpW
