While the new function is a neat offering and may bring in more normal casual crypto traders, I wonder which business analyst in their team did the cost benefit analysis. Is it really worth the internet fud and shame to bring in more Ledger sales?

The fact that the firmware has code that has the function to upload your seed to a cloud provider means the same function may be exploited, perhaps remotely executed (force opting you in) and uploading to a malicious server.
