What if you could turn one of the internet’s most universally used financial symbols into a tradable crypto asset... For years, the rocket 🚀 has meant one thing in markets: Higher. Crypto goes up: 🚀 Stocks break out: 🚀 A company launches: 🚀 It has become a universal symbol for momentum, success, upside and markets taking off. But there is also a company that gives the symbol a literal meaning: SpaceX. SpaceX has become one of the most closely watched companies in the market because its potential extends far beyond launching rockets. If SpaceX succeeds, it will not simply participate in the space economy. It could become a major part of the infrastructure underneath it. There are very few companies with a story this ambitious and, in my opinion, very few offering comparable asymmetric potential if that long-term vision becomes reality. At the same time, one of crypto’s largest emerging opportunities is the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs). Crypto has spent years building global, programmable financial rails. RWAs allow stocks, funds and other traditional assets to move onto those rails and interact with applications that could never exist inside a traditional brokerage account. @Robinhoodapp is positioning itself directly at the center of that opportunity. Robinhood Chain was built for financial services and tokenized real-world assets, allowing developers to combine traditional market exposure with crypto-native applications. That includes Robinhood Stock Tokens such as SPCX. According to Robinhood, every Stock Token in circulation is backed 1:1 by its corresponding underlying security held through a US-based custody partner. These products provide economic exposure through tokenized debt securities. The more interesting development is what builders can now create with these assets. Protocols such as @ponsdotfamily and @TheIndexFi are making headway in this area. IndexFi allows fees generated by a token launched on Pons to be routed into an automated treasury. That treasury can use those fees to purchase Robinhood Stock Tokens and distribute them directly to qualifying token holders. This creates an entirely new model: A memecoin can capture attention and trading volume while converting part of that activity into rewards paid in 1:1-backed Stock Tokens. The meme becomes a distribution layer for a real-world asset. @vladtenev recently described what developers are already building on Robinhood Chain: “For example, if you hold a memecoin, you get stock tokens airdropped to you.” He went on to describe developers connecting memecoins, core crypto assets and Stock Tokens to create products. That is important because Robinhood Chain is creating a programmable environment where memes, crypto and traditional assets can be combined into entirely new financial products. The 🚀 token was created as a direct expression of that idea. It has a 0% creator tax, while the creator-directed portion of Pons’ standard trading fees is routed to its IndexFi treasury and used to acquire Robinhood’s SPCX Stock Token. The resulting SPCX is distributed directly to qualifying 🚀 holders, with no staking and no manual claim required. With 🚀, you are not simply buying another token that promises vague future utility. You are holding a culturally recognizable asset whose trading activity can periodically purchase and distribute exposure to the company most naturally associated with it. And the ticker is not “ROCKET.” The ticker is literally: 🚀 Any time someone uses the rocket emoji to represent a stock breaking out, crypto moving higher, a company launching or markets going “to the moon,” they are also using the ticker of the asset. The symbol existed before the token. The culture already understands it. The market already uses it. Now it has been paired with what I believe is one of the market’s most compelling growth stories and connected to a mechanism that rewards holders with tokenized SpaceX exposure. The universal symbol for markets going up paired with the company taking humanity up. 🚀
