भारत की सनातन संस्कृति सिखाती है कि कृषि केवल अन्न उत्पादन का माध्यम नहीं, बल्कि मानवता के पोषण, प्रकृति के संरक्षण और विश्व कल्याण का आधार है। इसी भावना के साथ आज इंदौर में आयोजित 16वें ब्रिक्स कृषि सम्मेलन का सफल समापन हुआ।

इस दौरान ब्रिक्स देशों के कृषि मंत्रियों और प्रतिनिधियों के साथ खाद्य सुरक्षा, पौष्टिक आहार, किसानों की आजीविका, कृषि व्यापार, नवाचार, निवेश, जलवायु-सहिष्णु खेती तथा सतत कृषि विकास जैसे विषयों पर व्यापक, सार्थक और परिणामोन्मुखी विचार-विमर्श हुआ।

मुझे अत्यंत प्रसन्नता है कि सभी सदस्य देशों के सहयोग, सुझावों और रचनात्मक सहभागिता के परिणामस्वरूप एक महत्वाकांक्षी, संतुलित और भविष्योन्मुखी संयुक्त घोषणा-पत्र सर्वसम्मति से स्वीकार किया गया है, जो अब 'इंदौर डिक्लेरेशन' के नाम से जाना जाएगा। यह घोषणा-पत्र किसानों को केंद्र में रखकर खाद्य सुरक्षा, पोषण, आजीविका, कृषि व्यापार, निवेश, नवाचार तथा जलवायु-अनुकूल और टिकाऊ कृषि प्रणालियों को सुदृढ़ करने की हमारी साझा प्रतिबद्धता का प्रतीक है।

सम्मेलन में प्राकृतिक एवं पुनर्योजी कृषि को बढ़ावा देने के लिए BRICS Network of Centres of Excellence on Agroecology and Regenerative Agriculture की स्थापना पर सहमति बनी है। इसमें भारतीय कृषि प्रणाली अनुसंधान संस्थान (IIFSR) महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा। साथ ही डिजिटल तकनीक, कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता और डेटा आधारित कृषि समाधानों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए BRICS Network on Digital Agriculture का गठन भी किया गया है।

सम्मेलन के दौरान बीज प्रणालियों में किसानों के अधिकारों के संरक्षण तथा देशी बीजों और पारंपरिक ज्ञान को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए Global Forum on Farmers’ Rights in Seed Systems स्थापना पर सहमति बनी है। वहीं BRICS AGRIN के माध्यम से कृषि आदानों, बीजों और आनुवंशिक संसाधनों के क्षेत्र में सहयोग और ज्ञान-साझेदारी को नई गति मिलेगी। साथ ही BRICS Agricultural Research Platform को Knowledge-to-Action Hub के रूप में और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने पर भी सहमति बनी।

मुझे विश्वास है कि इंदौर डिक्लेरेशन किसानों के सशक्तिकरण, खाद्य सुरक्षा और सतत कृषि विकास के लिए ब्रिक्स देशों की साझा प्रतिबद्धता को मजबूत करेगा तथा वैश्विक कृषि सहयोग को नई दिशा प्रदान करेगा।

The joke is he claims that he stopped many wars and so contends for “Nobel for Peace”.
