Salute !
Super proud of our Mumbai’s son Captain Smit Machchhar, a true HERO — who saved hundreds of lives, in such an exceptional and extraordinary manner !
Despite being ghastly injured, the presence of mind and courage showed by Smit during flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, is exemplary.
I also salute all the passengers who worked immediately as a team to handle the difficult situation and sail through safely.
Wishing Smit a very speedy recovery and good health!
You are an inspiration.
Maharashtra & India is proud of you!
🇮🇱 🤝🇮🇳 🤝🇦🇪
It was a minor philosophical disagreement about how to fly the plane. NYT now confirms that it has been satisfactorily resolved after some passengers mediated between them.
Captain Smit Machchhar is a HERO.
In the face of the gravest danger and despite being seriously injured, he showed immense courage and an unwavering resolve to protect the lives of others.
His valour helped save hundreds of lives and avert a great tragedy.
India is proud of Captain Machchhar.
Praying for his speedy recovery, renewed strength and good health.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
Fact: An unbelievably brave and bloodied Indian pilot fights off repeated stabbings by his Islamist co-pilot in a plummeting plane and saves 180 innocent lives by preventing a 9/11 style terror attack.
BBC:
🇮🇳 REMEMBER THIS MAN: CAPTAIN SMIT MACHCHHAR.
An Indian captain flying hundreds of people from Dubai to Tel Aviv was stabbed in his own cockpit.
Wounded, bleeding, with the aircraft plunging thousands of feet, he fought back.
Then passengers and crew did something extraordinary:
They stormed the cockpit.
They restrained the attacker.
Other pilots took control.
And that plane LANDED.
Hundreds of families got their loved ones back today because ordinary people refused to freeze when everything went wrong.
Captain Smit Machchhar — India and the whole WORLD should be proud of you. 🇮🇳
And to the passengers and crew who ran toward the danger instead of away from it:
Heroes. Every single one of you.
This is what courage looks like.
🚨 Man in a ‘POLICE’ stickered WagonR caught on CCTV stealing a plant from the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway.
How do you build a better country when idiots steal even roadside plants? 🤬🤦♂️
Rajasthan Police has arrested Four people for harassing an Israeli tourist. A video had gone viral in which they were asking her "ek Shot ka kitna legi"
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN MUMBAI?
Look at this. A giant, grotesque political banner has been put up right on a main road in Worli, in broad daylight, completely taking over public space.
Seriously, how does this even happen?
Do people just walk in, put up whatever enormous banner they want, and leave?
And then BMC has to spend OUR MONEY taking this crap down?
What happens to the people who put it up? Who pays for the removal? Who gets fined? Who is held accountable?
@mybmc@MumbaiPolice
Nagar Road is a perfect example of how badly PMC manages a major arterial road.
The entire stretch is concrete, but it is patched with asphalt at multiple places, making the surface uneven and the driving experience even worse.
Add almost no proper lane markings, vehicles turning from anywhere, wrong side driving with little enforcement and not a single proper pedestrian crossing across the stretch.
Concrete road, asphalt patches, zero lane discipline and zero pedestrian safety.
Absolutely pathetic road management.
@PMCPune fix this stretch asap.
Hamare zamane me when we were school kids and fucked up, ek taad karke kaan ke niche padti thi. And we would be scared to go home and complain kyunki ek aur complimentary padti from parents.
We all KNEW we've fucked up and hence the hit. It kept us within a limit.
Our teachers had earned their respect. And we honoured the same.
Gen Z (and Bandra millennials), especially the later one, are soooo fucked up because they have no idea that actions have consequences. They think they are untouchable.
Which is why you see all this bullshit. From Cockroach Jantar Mantar to LPU rampage, these idiots have grown up thinking the world is their Minecraft.
What their parents and teachers didn't do, should now be done by CRPF and local cops.
Lathi charge. En mass Lathi charge. Hit these idiots and put some sense in them. Koot koot ke maro salon ko, ensure they won't be able to sit on their ass for at least a month.
If the rules applied equally to every caste and included real penalties for false complaints, there would be nothing to fear. The problem is a one-sided definition that treats only certain groups as victims while leaving others exposed to misuse.
Discrimination can run in more than one direction on a campus. A framework that assumes only reserved-category students can be victims creates exactly the climate of suspicion it claims to fight.
People do not fear fair anti-discrimination rules. They fear a system that drops safeguards against false cases and can be used to pressure academic decisions. That is a reasonable concern, not evidence of casteism.
This is how politicians exploiting system. A MLA forcing government officials for tender contract to his favourite contractors. #Pune
No wonder infrastructure is substandard I'm this country.
Asked about the CCTV footage, the strongest piece of objective evidence, the father says he won’t comment because it’s under investigation. Fair enough.
Allegations with no evidence or proof are enough to demand the arrest of the professor & dean?
