In light of the recent public statements and administrative commitments concerning the blanket withdrawal or quashing of First Information Reports (FIRs) related to the agitations led by the CJP and associated acts of public disorder, our Clients wish to assert their legal rights and standing. They vigorously oppose any such executive concessions or applications filed pursuant to Section 360 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 (formerly known as Section 321 of the CrPC).

It is well-established in law that the withdrawal of criminal prosecution cannot be permitted as a mere political compromise or executive leniency in cases involving cognizable offenses such as public violence, obstruction of public servants in the line of duty, and disturbance of public peace. Consequently, our Clients will be submitting appropriate Intervention Applications and Impleadment Petitions to the competent jurisdictional Courts. They aim to demonstrate that any unilateral withdrawal of prosecution threatens the rule of law, and the dismissal of such criminal proceedings without judicial review would be entirely illegitimate, legally unsound, and against the public interest.

As the buzz around the Jantar Mantar protest dies down, Madhya Pradesh is back in the news.

SDM Ram Niwas of Panna district ordered two mobile covers worth ₹120 from Flipkart.

When the delivery boy arrived with the sealed package, the SDM opened it and found only one mobile cover instead of two. Rather than raising a complaint with Flipkart, he allegedly abused the delivery boy and demanded an immediate refund.

The delivery boy dared to tell His Lordship that that's not how e-commerce works. He explained that the parcel was sealed, that it was likely a packing or logistics error, and that the proper course was to raise a complaint with Flipkart, which would handle the resolution through its return process.

His Lordship took offense at being told how the process worked. He allegedly called the police, and the delivery boy was reportedly arrested under Section 151 of the BNSS.

Students protest in Delhi | Delhi Police Sources say - 130 Police personnel have been injured. 15 FIRs have been registered. About 65 students were injured in the protest. Around 10,000 people on average are present at and around Jantar Mantar, 3000 Police personnel deployed there.

With the help of Facial Recognition System (FRS) cameras, Delhi Police is identifying anti-social elements coming to Jantar Mantar. Police have identified more than 2000 such people so far who have had criminal records and came to Jantar Mantar: Delhi Police Sources
